Hobbits Hole - a tunnel along the Forgotten World Highway, between Tamaranui and Stratford on the North Island of NZ. The road is mainly tar sealed, except for about 20kms of the worst gravel road I’ve ever driven. It was so corrugated that the gas cylinder jumped out of its mounting. Added to the dangers of this narrow, twisting, turning, undulating back road was the fact that the NZ Classic Car Rally was coming through from the opposite direction and they didn’t seem to know which side of the road they were supposed to be on. Strangely enough, I noticed that many of the cars had UK number plates.

We stay there a few years ago, went to the very large boat lift, which we both found interesting.

Our wild camping spot overlooking the harbour at Mana, just north of Wellington, NZ. It’s fascinating to watch all the goings-on. We’ve seen boats, paddle boards, wakas, kayaks, etc on the water. And on land, we’ve seen cricket being played on the playing fields behind us, dogs chasing sticks and seagulls on the beach and drug dealers quietly plying their trade.

Just keep following Lenny HB travel blogs, they make a great tutorial in the dark arts of being an FLT.
I do try to keep the side up but am easily tempted to pay up by a nice view.
Still, six nights on present trip, all in different places and only paid for one.
