Not good news! It’s a brown marmorated stink bug. These are responsible for annihilating crops around the world and have recently started to appear in Europe.

I think it's a Dock Bug. The dark patch on its back is distinctive I think although they don't all have it. One of the Shield bug family.

I don't think it's a stink bug they have two white bands on their antenna, it's more likely to be a dock bug.

Saw these in car park in Sault, France
( missed get photo of a early Alpine as it drove through town)
About 12 of the modern Alpines , all in blue
The blue Renault 5 turbo looked hard work steering in the car park.
And it popular with motorbikes, there were loads of them.

Crikey that sounds scary!

Cliff’s caught one in a jar and had a closer look. He says it’s definitely more like DBK and ChrisL ’s dock bug.

Roses are planted in vineyards to act as an indicator of powdery mildew. If the roses show signs of mildew, or other fungus, then it’s time to treat the vines.
