Not good news! It’s a brown marmorated stink bug. These are responsible for annihilating crops around the world and have recently started to appear in Europe.
 
I don't think it's a stink bug they have two white bands on their antenna, it's more likely to be a dock bug.

Saw these in car park in Sault, France
( missed get photo of a early Alpine as it drove through town)
About 12 of the modern Alpines , all in blue
The blue Renault 5 turbo looked hard work steering in the car park.
And it popular with motorbikes, there were loads of them.

Crikey that sounds scary!

Cliff’s caught one in a jar and had a closer look. He says it’s definitely more like DBK and ChrisL ’s dock bug.

We were going to stop at Albi on the way home but diverted off to visit ancestral home at
Montignac – Lascaux instead. I'll have to add it to the "next time" list.
