A photo of the day thread

Evzones . Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Athens.

A tired and exhausted Great Niece and Nephew,(Leia &Lucas), spent a long day Saturday competing in the junior Flyball event at Crufts. A high energy event both for the dogs and their handlers. The hard work was rewarded when their team achieved success by finishing third overall.
On the Sunday young Leia competed in a local Rugby game, where she was named Player of the match. (Chosen by the opposition team).
Oh to have all that energy ! 😉

Coming to the end of our stay in Málaga. Climbed to the mirador at the highest point in the city & cycled along the coast. Visited the Alcazar, the fish market, the Pompidou centre, and had a couple of glasses in a traditional sherry bar. Also purely by chance managed to bag a front row view of the Málaga Film Festival red carpet event - just sort of stumbled upon it - their version of the BAFTAs.

It's a fun city. We've always swerved it before, and gone elsewhere in Andulusia / Costa del Sol, but it's a worthy destination in it's own right. ☀️

Completely agree, spent a week there before Xmas - the lights are amazing and the city has a great vibe.

Classic Mercedes truck pulled in to collect from our Sorocaba plant. Stunning truck. Don’t look too closely at the tyres though.

Sugarcane as far as the eye can see on road to Ribeirao Preto.

Local IPA tastes well good even when near frozen 👍
Need it in the 35 degree heat. Oh the hardship 😉

But where's the TV
Good question! 😀 No, I just chucked the TV remote on top of my tiny rucksack at our Malaga Airbnb last night after packing, to give an idea of size. (Ryanair have reduced their free carry-on allowance to 40x25x20cm (16"x10"x8") which is pretty tiny).

It's surprising how little you need to pack for a fortnight away, especially if your accommodation has a washing machine for your smalls. Of course I also cheated by wearing sturdy shoes, jeans, a micro fleece, a thin cotton jacket and a lightweight Rab waterproof as I checked in at the Ryanair bording gate, and to be fair when landing this morning in Bristol I needed all those layers. Welcome back to cold and rainy UK.

I've had that Berghaus rucksack for over 30 years and used it all over the world including a fortnight holiday in Thailand when it was bungied onto the back of a 250cc Honda Dominator dirt bike when we explored the Mae Hong Son loop and the national parks west of Chang Mai, staying at little bunkhouses and guesthouses. (That's why it looks so grubby)! 😀

We all have a fave backpack I believe . mine until it fell apart was a freebie from a travel show. Replaced by another cheapie that is think light and can hold an amazing amount.
Hope your heating wad on when you got home.

Heating on, wearing 2 fleeces, and slippers too. I'm still a bit nippy though!

We were treated to a magnificent sunset over the Pyrenees last night from our nightstop on the French side (my camera on my phone struggled a bit and started to pixelate the photo), and this morning the sun is bathing the snow-topped peaks.

I said i was only going to put 1 photo up, couldn't resist. Took about 100.
Love Seville.
Nice lunch in a Lebbo restaurant, have to say it was better than we get in Dubai.
1st pick is a bit of wood thrown together using i think 13,000,000 screws
2nd a big building.
3rd a knackered pensioner.

Fun fact - the " big building" in your second photo Bob is the Plaza d'Espana which was used in Star Wars Episode II as the planet Naboo.

Of i knew it was The Plaza Espana but not that it was used in Star Wars, interesting.

What a brill site we have for the next 3 nights. Camping Las Lomas half way up the Sierra Navadas, 20 ish Ks from Granada (those that don't like paying don't bother looking).
More pics tomorrow when we return from Alhambra.
Maybe no pics tomorrow as it's taken forever just to get these 2 up.
