Our granddaughter Eva (11) on her way to gold in 200m breaststroke and 200m freestyle at a recent gala. 2 weeks time she will be swimming at the Northern Regional Finals at Ponds Forge in Sheffield. She has qualified for 12 events so she has to decide which events to drop as its physically impossible to do them all at that competitive level.

On our dog walk yesterday , first time it flew off before I could get my phone out , but couple of minutes later back again , camera was ready

Just had 3 bigish skeins of geese fly over, their calling takes me back to being on the marsh with my Dad.
As a nipper, they would start flying at around dawn and there would still be huge groups heading off to feed coming up to midday, but no where near those numbers nowadays.
These lot were coming from inland after feeding, heading northwards towards the Solway Firth and their roosts on the marsh.
