A photo of the day thread

Bit of T Rexing today...... riding a white Swan on the water in Southport, Ralf with his sun hat on and views of water and down pier. Didn't have time to wslk whole pier, unfortunately.

Great site Southport with plenty to do especially with grandkids........but we're knac@@@@ered it was fun though. View attachment 651372View attachment 651373View attachment 651374View attachment 651375
Smudger55 as Wendo55 says, we used to have several meets at Southport pleasureland.

One year we hired ALL the swans and had a swan race but with water pistols to drench the opponents. :)

We all thought we were doing pretty good until one Funster... an ex fireman brought out his big hose on the swan. We didn't stand a chance. :). Brilliant weekend.

An interesting selection of bottles. There’s even one with a cork. You don’t see those very often. Our recycling company makes us remove the screw caps before putting them in the bin. I collect the tops for Kids with Cancer.

South Valleyfield CCC CL site near Errol

We were there earlier this year. The owners seem to take a pride in its upkeep!

Just a short walk to Perthshire Caravans if you want/need anything from their accessories shop.

The maintained ruins of the old Kirk are about a mile away and worth the walk.

My Classic Bike Club had a ride out today, boy was it hot.

An unexpected find, unfortunately partly obscured by trees. A Spitfire mounted on a stand in the grounds of a factory producing boarding stairs for aircraft.

We rode into the hills and Valleys of South Wales. A picture looking down on what used to be a coal mining town before the closure of the collieries in Wales.

Unfortunately, the inscription on the cross was illegible.

Sat by the river at Ross on Wye View attachment 651793to hopefully get a glimpse of the Red Arrows passing by
failed to move away from the trees in time, but we heard them (part result) lol 🤪
I saw them go past Bradford on Avon yesterday afternoon

Next door neighbour set off yesterday evening to go to Looe, he was going to break their 350 mile journey with a stop at some services nearer their destination. He got parked up, only for a tree to fall onto his caravan !
Luckily a friendly brick delivery lorry used his crane to lift it off. Not sure what the damage is yet.
