A photo of the day thread

If you are a car guy you just have to 👍 Derek was there and spoke to my partner like he'd known her for life, top guy 😎
Found these old school 10" rims, thems were the days

They are Dunlop alloy's, I had a set on my Mini Cooper back in the 70's

Derek is a thoroughly nice guy. We visited 10 or 12 years ago and got chatting as I was in the classic car business and it turned out that his father had his garage down the road from us when we were living in Ampthill.

Spanish Navy warship illegal incursion into British waters happening now. Royal Navy guard “ship” being bullied out of the way. Again!

I used to live in Ampthill in the late 1980s. I probably wouldn't recognise it now.

We lived in one of the cottages at the top of Park Hill in the mid to late 80's, one of Yvette's brothers still lives in Ampthill on Flitwick Rd

Derek Mathewson had what was the garage at the Houghton Conquest turn.

Some tall trees on the tall trees trail just outside Dunster in Somerset. This one is the tallest tree in the U.K. it’s a Douglas fir. Taken on wide angle which makes the other trees look like they are growing at a funny angle but there not. (y)

A bit late in post but those wheels remind me of the ones fitted to some mini 1275 GT,s. I think they were called Denovo and they were run flats.
When I was stationed in Germany I knew of someone with those fitted to his Mini. He couldn’t get tyres in Germany. When he was in the uk on leave he bought a set of Minilte wheels to solve the problem of getting tyres.

Hmmm …. Interesting entry on Google Maps:

‘Scenic cove with clothing-optional areas’!

Clothes or not 😉 It's advisable to wear beach shoes. 😁
You could drive right down there once, but now you have to walk and its steep. 😁
Us parked on the beach in 2012. 👍😎 Bob

Yes maybe next year when they have the Audlem music festival weekend.
As you come back out of the car park to the shroppie fly there's a field opposite which they open for rallies.

Also the Bentley showroom is amazing. Its a shame Kate wasn't in the office has she would have got you a tour around the heritage part which is closed to visitors.
Maybe next Time eh .

We used to stop at the Shroppie Fly when we lived on our narrowboat. Actually an artist from Audlem mill painted a water colour of Helen Louise our Narrow boat.

Just had three nights at Braithwaite Village C&CC site, nr Keswick.

Very nice, recently renovated site with big pitches and excellent facilities.
