A photo of the day thread

Hi did they say what the lumps were as Charly has just recently got one on his chest Happy New Year best wishes Rod & Mar
Hi Rod, the vet said they was not cancerous just a sort of walt but she was forever having a go at them, so after many warning telling her to leave them alone, 😉 we removed them. 🙂

The biggest problem was the collar of shame, but Janie had a plan and everything was OK after that. 😁

It needs these buttresses to stop it sliding any further into the valley !! ......

Wasn't sure about posting this image, but have cropped it. It shows the final resting place of Doug SCOTT, a renowned Everest mountaineer, who was local and died just recently. I'm presuming that the coloured flags are a nod to the flags that seem to be everywhere around the base camps on Everest expeditions?

That is very worrying. Will the insurance cover erosion or is it classed S Act of God? :(
Its quite bad now. The galvanised fence was the original safety fence but you can see in the image that half of the path is sloping as the cliff is undercut. The wooden fence is the second attempt at keeping the path open.

Unconfirmed local talk is the council is going to shore it up. I haven't seen any reports about it though. If they don't do something soon, that house is a gonner!

Strangely, the coastal path on the other side of the harbour is closed due to under cutting. I'll post an image when I get to my phone.

Charlestown west side coastal path re routed about 2 weeks ago. First image shows the council fenced off the path.
Second image, the farmer has given up 2 metres of land and the path now goes behind the coastguard cottages

Just one today. The ice reforming on the cut after a boat went through.
That’s a wide canal. Where is it, please?
It must be amazing to take a boat through the ice, and probably quite noisy.

Leeds Liverpool canal about 24 miles west of Leeds. It is classed as a wide canal. We get quite a lot of wide beams along here.

A bit of an urban wander today. I don’t really like built up areas but thought I would have a change.

I grew up in Bradford and liked all those places :)

Rather less glamorous or exciting than most of the photos on this thread... but maybe quite useful for an "on the road in the Algarve" motorhomer...

A GPL (LPG) garage AND washing machines with lots of parking spaces right there. The garage shop stocks lots of nibbles and chocolate bars AND there is a smaller (no butcher) "Supermarket of Shame" (English groceries) just off the nearby roundabout.
