Crosby Marina, still as a still thing

Our Oak tree was straining under the amount of acorns on it this year, so it made it a nightmare to mow the lawn, but it has been a bonus for the animals that come into our garden to feed on them.

The Muntjac's seem to be rather partial to them as they come most evenings to feed on them.

Another lovely sunset on the plain this evening.

We regularly get nuthatches coming to our feeders. Telling them apart is difficult. Is it one bird coming repeatedly? The males are russet coloured underneath and females white. We see both so perhaps they are a pair but have they bred? I think so because I took these photos this morning.

This is an adult male I think.

And this is another male and probably a juvenile - it has paler feet than the one above and the white at the base of the bill is a bit different. I must try and get a shot of a female - which look similar but are a bit paler underneath.

First outing in the motorhome. Lovely little site on outskirts of dawlish (10min walk) I won’t say to much about are pitch.... lesson I’ve learnt is to not drive on the grass and drive past the hard standing. Will sort that out in the morning. Place called Lockwood house CS. All facilities on pitch and 24 quid a night. Will hopefully use the facilities when we get on the pitch tomorrow morning. ( anyone have a 4x4 near dawlish?) 🤣

Here is captain Alex in her captain chair. She only took 10mins to figure out how to turn it around. We won’t mention that though 😜

I’m not surprised you’re using an electric fin heater if you’re paying £24 per night! You should get Alex to try out the Autotrail blown heating. It’s very good and it should only take Alex half an hour to work out how to use it!

We have webasto diesel heating so have that on a bit but keep the cab nice with the electric heater. Toasty and raining lots... not going to help with getting to are “pitch” we could do with a frost 🤣

I presume these were taken before Spain was discovered?😊

Well before Spain was discovered in our family.....1961 I think, that's my dads Standard Vanguard and a tent that he had specially made.

Mum and Dad never went abroad, my first visit to Europe was in 1986 and Spain was in 1994 aged 45! Loved the place and have been a regular visitor to Iberia ever since.

Our local Holly bush/tree on our walk this morning, loaded with berries. Until the wreath makers strip it that is...

One of the less pleasant aspects of our Hamble Foreshore walk. There is fresh litter just feet from the bin!

Our visit to Oamaru, the penguin capital of New Zealand, resulted in us failing to see a single (live) penguin, but a massive colony of cormorants (known as ”shags” here). Some old duffer decided to climb onto a cannon and shout “I see no ships“.
And all this is just 11,890 miles from Devizes.

Thanks for the recent pic, I'm getting all emotional now, the last time I was there we met my mum and dad and had a barbecue on the beach in the corner just behind those rocks, probably about 1989.
We had rented a static at Saundersfoot and paid a couple of visits to Angle, we got stranded by the tide at the Point House on one visit, worse places to be stranded
