A photo of the day thread

This is our stop last night and tonight at Catillon sur Sabre ( just a note the Aire by canal is now closed and service point moved to what was the over flow car park)

We were there a couple of years ago but the bew service point wasn't finished then.

This is the new service point , better than the old pipe in the wall.

Well we have made it into France!

After an easy, trouble free run from South Wales to the Tunnel we found that there were delays. When we arrived in France roadworks on the Autoroutes/by-pass delayed us again, but we have arrived in Cambrai for the night.

We have stopped on the Munical site, Les Trois Clochers. A quiet site with good size pitches, all with EHU and water. The services are modern and clean and, for motorhomes, a good service point with drive over grey waste drain. A Buffalo Grill directly opposite the entrance would have been our choice except for concern the CV-19.

The site is on Camper Contact but the co-ordinates are incorrect. They take you down a narrow lane to the rear of the site where there is no entrance and a dead end. The correct co-ordinates are :-

N 50.175322
E 003.214685

I will report this to Camper Contact.

What does THS stand for, please?

Temporary Holiday Site. A scheme run by Camping and Caravan Club through their local Clubs.
Usually basic facilities on third party sites such as Rugby Clubs, rally fields etc. Must be a member of C&CC although can join at your first stop. Usually during holiday periods when demand is greatest on established sites. Usually 1/3 to 1/2 prices of Site fees.
If you go to C&CC website, Menu, Magazine, Out and about. There is a searchable list.

A few from today at Morecambe, unfortunately still in the car as we are still waiting for our garden to be finished

There is an egret in there somewhere.
And I know Dan won't appreciate me posting this one 🤣

Corbridge THS is one of our local favourites Barry, our pals are there now in their Elddis Evolution. If it's sunny and you can get a seat outside The Angel, you can spend an interesting couple of hours watching the traffic negotiate that three way junction !

Great to see, I went to senior school in Morecambe and frequented the Broadway Hotel, no longer there now, in my earlier drinking days. Smudger55

Took me almost that long to get through the junction myself in the MH Graeme
Certainly not for jittery drivers :tmi:

The Peasants have been here, complete with Co-Op carrier bag! This happens most days. I'd love to catch them leaving and shove the pizza box where the sun doesn't shine!

As a nipper, helping out with harvest in the 60's, barley only ever had two rows of grain on the ears, the only time we saw four rows was on wheat which we rarely grew. Picked up this ear that the combine has missed, 6 rows of grain on every stalk, that's a great improvement ? I wonder if it's done with selective breeding or genetic tampering ?
