A photo of the day thread

Wee cycle from Harrogate to Knaresborough earlier today. We fell in love with Knaresborough last year.

Yep, all good fun, shame we could
We know that road at Lakeside, but did manage to turn our tag axle chieftain round then got blocked on the bridge by an idiot who could not reverse to let us through, queue behind us inc a truck, nothing behind him, All good fun though
Yep, all good fun, it was a shame we could not go any further but hope to be there in October and perhaps hire a car. Cheers

So, is the moral of the story “Need to down-size motorhome“.
It could be we had a discussion about that night...... but where would we store all our stuff... many more discussions to be had.

For my next DIY project I've just bought one of these. It is even smaller than I expected! I've got to solder a few wires to it but the programming is going to be a challenge - way outside my comfort zone. :)

I've got to solder a few wire
Apologies, a little off topic John, but do you use an electric or gas soldering iron for jobs like that?
Trying to improve my soldering skills.

I've bought a new electric soldering iron with a very small point which should be suitable. I've also bought a hot air soldering station. This blasts very hot air and is used with soldering paste which is a mixture of flux and powdered solder. I've used this and it can be very neat. It is also good for de-soldering. I have also got some new glasses for close up work!

i was going to ask the same, what's it for, but didn't want to appear thick as a short plank..
can't imagine even attempting to solder onto something that titchy..

.
Sorry, should have explained.😀 It's an Arduino Mini which is a tiny micro control board. I'm going to add a GPS and radio to it to make a very small tracker. It will use a system called The Things Network to communicate. I'll probably start a new thread about this soon as I am going to need some technical help. 😅

A lot of help!

Not seen the light of my life grandaughter since last year now. It's breaking my heart I miss her so much.

Sent her a little dress last week and received this photo today of her 'thank you dance' . So want to watch her dance in person for me.
