A photo of the day thread

Today's effort taken whilst riding over Salter Fell in Lancashire. Started in Wray ending in Slaidburn, 16 miles, 2,000 ft climbing, shear grind. Still it gives big views.

Well I've been busy digging out approx 15ftx14ftx1.6ft part of garden for a patio, spot difference from 2 photos. Fun begins now, ordering sleepers and paving slabs later this week, all I then have to do is put it all together. Ha... ha. my wife is waiting in eager but more likely critical anticipation of the end result. BUILDING TOWARDS THE DREAM. SMUDGER55

what do you feed the hedgehogs
I give them 2 different sorts of hedgehog food, crunchy and a ground mix of I hate to think what. Both bought from Amazon. They love it. Think I have about 5 different ones that come now.

Today was special for me. I havn't even been out for exercise.. Just to check on van, and to nearby shops for milk, bread and margerine.

TODAY I WENT FOR A WALK TO LOCAL PARK:).... was sooo nervous.. Saw mum and her baby ducks, felt the sun on my arms, left some leaving stones in park for children... Feels like such an important day in my life. :)

Charlestown today. Sadly the coastal path to Porthpean is closed due to dangerous cliff edge. It was the route to my house. Last November I posted the path on the other side of Charlestown was fenced off. Now due to undercutting, the fence has been moved to the other side of the wooden structure . Now less than half metre wide. It won’t be long before the cottage is dangerously close to collapsing into the sea.

good old Charlestown

We had eleven ducklings on our local pond a couple of weeks ago but seagulls/herons got them all. We were delighted to see, during our walk this morning, that another nine have now appeared. Hopefully the more luxuriant foliage around the pond will provide these ones with more cover.

It’s Queen’s Birthday weekend and now that we are at Level 2 we are able to go away in our motorhome. We chose to go to Takaka, Golden Bay, which is a local favourite of ours. This is the view from our van. I think I may have posted a similar one about 6 months ago. Britain is having a warm spring and NZ is having a warm autumn.
