A photo of the day thread

Absolutely loved Bom Jesus, Braga, Portugal. I didn't count the steps, there were loads, 500 or more, one way. The first part from the parking zig zag GED through woods and past the biggest 'Stations of the Cross' I have ever seen, inside the depictions were at least life size. Then all the statues, fountains, the church and then grottos and more trees and lakes. Amazing place. Janie

Looks really peaceful and chilled out. The sort of place I would love to pull in for the day just to chill and get my head together. I can never find them.
Winsor is just a short drive from my home a great town with fantastic parkland surrounding it, our Royal family have good taste ;). Our breakfast options on a Sunday morning are either Wetherspoons right opposite the castle set in a lovely old building or the Winsor shop which is within the walls of the great park. Just sitting at the castle gate watching the thousands of tourists from around the world milling around is prime people watching territory. (y)

A few pics of the two boles of sweet chestnut we milled for a client over the last two days. They're redeveloping a manor house and this will go to make decking for the garden and a rustic table ( we did say that drying the big slab could prove "interesting")

They found a big piece of walnut that had a crotch at one end which they thought would make a nice "live edged" chopping board, "Just like James Martin has" but I forgot to take an "after" pic !

I shall have to research how to ‘quote’ more than one person at a time .

. It’s by a fairly busy road but there’s a good walk or three, and it did feel quite chilled. I had a couple of hours to wait but didn’t want to go into Town ... I did sneak into Windsor Castle Farm shop for a bread roll and a couple of tomatoes ?. (Easy parking for the van) and also stayed in the park for lunch.
A selection of my children live around about there and I also like the farm shop caff for a bit of tourist watching with posh napkins. I used to live in the Royal Borough many years ago - at which time I was the world’s best (probably) finder of free venues with free parking for Sunday-fun-out with the children. Free spots included an empty picnic space at busy Burnham Beeches; we found out why it was an empty space when we got atacked by wood ants and had to flee before they ate us and our lunch! Another opportunity to know next time Teehee

Molveno Italy. In the foreground of the top picture there is an aire (expensive though) and against the cloud to the right of the mountain peak on the bottom picture you can just see one of the competitors of an airobatic hang gliding competition.
