Beautiful church and meal at local pub with @SueTayBon @Cal54 @Aly1 and special service from waiter ... which was better than the nil service received beforehand :(

@movan
Wish we knew you were there.
We spent the weekend at our aunties house opposite the field with the camping on.

When we were there a couple of years a go , there was a floating restuarant ( didn't go & eat , had my BBQ out) but there was 2 sort of Itinerant / hippie wagons there but no problem.

Didn't see any floating Restaurants!! But I did manage to get my BBQ out. Quiet spot, about a mile pleasant walk to the village which was also very quiet. A couple of French vans pulled up for one night and a German arrived for the second night. They didn't get out of there van, just watch TV all evening.

That's always fasinating how many motorhomers keep turning around so that they can get sat tv reception avoiding trees buildings etc , then settle in & hardly get out of van at all , for the rest of there stay , what a waste , theres always somewhere interesting to walk to & see , even it's only the local wild life.

Yes, quiet agree. The wild life was beautiful there, birds signing away. I rarely turn our tv on, much prefer to admire the view. I just put it down to the fact that they were Germans.

I’ve taken loads of pics of Durham Cathedral over the decades, yet I can’t resist getting my phone out when this iconic view appears....
