Slightly larger than last year's pool and a much greater effort made to level the ground under it.

My little petrol engined water pump fired up straight away and drew water from my bottom well into the two, 1000 litre tanks and then filled the pool (needing 4000+ litres).

All done now... so the pump goes back into it's box for another 364 days.

Solar power filtration pump should be running tomorrow. (y)

How do you, or anyone else, of advancing years, such as myself, actually get in and out of the thing:)

Ended up in Freiburg today from the Aire at emmingdingen. About 10 miles flat and dirt cheap as shops were closed for bank holiday. She cost me an ice cream though. Right outside the cathedral was a stone with where I work on it. Guildford. Later research shows they are twinned

When are you setting up the diving board and lifeguard tower?:D:D

Battersea Power Station development.
A disgraceful exercise in foreign money-laundering, tax-evasion and property speculation.
It's a monument to greed.

Eguisheim. Staying at the fp site as usual and gone for the pinot Gris.
Popped into the wine merchants and saw they had orange beer at 18 per cent and 10 euros for a magnum. Asked to try some and she kindly explained I was supposed to add it to my beer for flavour. I explained I use frozen strawberries for that and that I was English. She gave a knowing but disgusted glance before I told her it keeps the beer cold. The disgusted look disappeared.

Lots of accusations there. Any facts ?

The prices start at around £600K for studio apartment (or £700K for 1 bed apartments) and then to £8million for the 3 bed..and then the sky is the limit for the suites and penthouses.
The occupancy periods will be, like all such high-end London properties, very low (typically used as holiday homes or not at all, just unfurnished investments).
It's funded by Malaysian money for international corporations and the super-rich to buy as an asset, and a hedge-fund purchase.
To think of it as "housing" is to miss the point of what high-end London property is actually for.
You need to ask why empty London property is so attractive to the Russian and Arab super rich.

They were allowed, by Wandsworth council, to reduce the number of affordable homes in the development to 386 out of 4,000 (initially it was going to be around 1500 I think).
I have no idea what "affordable home" means in the context of this development...very probably it means I couldn't afford one.

Anyway, luckily I think the area within about 10 miles of Battersea is a right shit 'ole, so they can charge what they like, when you step outside it's still Battersea and your Lamborghini won't be going more than 4mph.
