Grabbed a brief opportunity to get away for a couple of days fairly locally. C&CC club site at Sells Green, near Devizes, Wilts.

Here a couple do what most people do when confronted with the Caen Locks flight....stare in amazement.

A view I never get tired of (although I'm sure you could tire of it if you had to navigate it regularly, there's a couple of hours hard graft involved in just these....and there are plenty more nearby)

The moment I saw them about to sit down I sort of knew there was a photo opportunity about to happen. Sometimes the stars align.
A few moments earlier it was a rather disappointing empty bench.
(Canon 6D. Canon 70-200 f/4 L lens. Such a sharp lens you can cut yourself on the images)

Strangely a van towing a trailer with a few canoes also made it up
Unfortunately once he'd started up he couldn't turn around he followed us down as it was impossible to reverse.
