A photo of the day thread

Don't you just hate it when you settle down for dinner & a fly buzzes in.

I know your parking place at Loch Lomond, always full of cars in the summer.
John

Went passed there on our return home a few weeks ago.
Plenty of road works and congestion having to squeeze past lorries, it was a bit of a nightmare.
I seem to remember there were signs up saying no camping?

All looks good with the snow though :)

There were works for 12 days I think. Barrier repair and resurfacing. Roadside undergrowth was meant to be trimmed back. Will try to drive there in the car next week and check it out regarding the sign. Don't know if Northernraider stayed overnight.

The camping restrictions around loch lomond run from March to September but I'm sure I heard recently they were illegal so may not apply now
That said I didn't overnight there I just stopped for lunch
Roadworks were still ongoing

Can't place the dam, Northernraider, where is it? Did you go from Aviemore to Spean bridge , can't remember the road number.

Yes that's right I went via spean bridge I can't for the life of me remember the road number either or the name if the dam

Can I just make it clear I wasn’t criticising just saying I saw some signs along that road.
To be fair you would need to be a heavy sleeper along there with the amount of lorries using that road :)

Ahh it's cool I didn't think you were criticising I noticed the signs when I was there that's how i had noticed they said March to September ..but i had heard something on the news a few weeks back about the practice being illegal so I wasn't sure if they still applied.
As you say I don't think it's somewhere I'd overnight as while I was parked there it was really busy and noisy with traffic

I think it would be popular with folk camping there to fish etc and youd need to be well drunk by bedtime to sleep through the traffic lol

I think mostly the no camping signs were shown a while ago to be illegal, and Mire recently "they" had to refund the camping management zone permits around Lock Lomond and the Trossachs, can't remember exactly the issue though
was it A9 onto A86 and the dam at loch laggan !!!
That road was closed again today with yet another overturned lorry
What's Big Ben doing there ? :)
More important, what's Joy @movan doing there??? (only asking on behalf of a friend in the NMC you understand.....)

View attachment 199021 Truro park and ride. Motorhome friendly. £2.00 for bus to Truro and back. The bus ticket is for a day pass
One P&R to the east, one to the west of the city, the buses run from one to the other then turn round & do it all again. They run every 15 minutes or less. I still have about 18 days on my pass :) Wrinkly discounts too.
An easy way to visit Falmouth - P&R into Truro railway station, then the train to Falmouth - by road in the tourist season is awful.
Great for visiting the hospital (hope you don't need it) and cheaper than the hospital car park.

Apologies for the dates, never really got near my laptop to post photos.
These are from my trip south on the 15th.

Ault a'chruinn at the head of Loch Duich, A87. There's a Club campsite just in there.

Feral goats, A87 just out of Shiel Bridge (s-e). They come down onto the road every winter. Be careful; they straggle along the road so when you think you've passed them, you could easily come across more!

Glen Coe. Very atmospheric, stunningly beautiful in all kinds of weather.
