A photo of the day thread

Had to go to the bank today

@Terry could make a nice little moho out of that... (y)

I have to admit that these were not taken in the last 24 hours, but I have been slowly working my way through my photos and sorting them out into electronic albums. These are actually from 2016.

From posts I know that a few people have visited Eastney and Langstone harbour is one of my favourite places around Portsmouth. When I took these, we had just berthed the boat in Southsea Marina and the light was amazing so I grabbed my camera and managed to snap these photos. They are completely as taken with no lens filters used nor any post production alteration or enhancement other than being cropped. Just lucky to have been there at the right time...

Great photos, proper job as they should be no playing about with them to get effects etc. Well done.

Always amazes us how the short distance over the Pyrenees makes a huge difference, Spanish side as brown as brown and soon as you are on the French side its as lush and green as the jolly green giant.
Boring photos I know but heres some of the hairpins from the French side.

I was aeromed so did lots of flights in and out of Brize but was stationed at Odiham
I was Avionics on 216 sqn Tristars. Beautiful aircraft and fantastic to work on. Probably the thing I miss about the RAF.

Struggling with paperwork today so no wandering around in the gale force winds ... this photo, however, received from Funster Richard W for those of you interested in aeroplanes. .... Have a good day everybody, fligh high. :)

oooops can't put it on .. it won't paste without full information about the photo which is not mine to share... :( but it was a really nice photo .. honest. :(

Canalside Pillbox ???

View attachment 193062

History and/or WWII buffs - why a pillbox along a canal... surely Churchill wasn't expecting Hitler's army to come chugging up the Kennet & Avon in armoured narrow boats at a stately 5mph ?

Canals a natural line of defence, bridge in the background, pillbox at important defensive location.

Nobody seems to have told Isis the greyhound that they aren’t meant to be able to climb ladders.

It’s the dogs first time away in this van, and she’s spent every night (uninvited I must add) in the human bed...

Here are the sloe berries we picked at Spurn Point . 3lb of them !
They are in the freezer now . That way you don't have to prick them all in several places.
I'm going to make some sloe gin mmmm
Below is my home brewed Kefir . I make a fresh litre batch every day . We've drunk it for a few years now.
