In the mountains above Chamonix we came across these two, admiring the view of Mont Blanc and the glacier La Mer de Glace.

Not the best of days for views as it is a bit murky today but still worth the visit.

Quite often find a 4 leaf clover walking across the cow field but this is a first in
42 years.

Above is the tide effect referred to on the notice. We also saw coastguard springing into action to rescue a kayaker who had found himself a mile out ....we couldn't actually see the guy but there were folks with binoculars watching the thing unfold. I believe all was well in the end.

Picture below is part of an art trail in Drummore, it's actually painted stones but looked very lifelike!

The lighthouse is the most southerly spot in Scotland, roughly on the same latitude as Middlesborough.

All the years that I lived in Durham, with a good friend who worked at Houghall, it was only the last week or so that another member made me aware of the THS there.
Many a Saturday afternoon spent across the road at Maiden Castle, watching my boys play hockey for Durham Uni on the water pitch.

I believe this is the first time a THS has been hosted at Houghall @Kingham although The C&C Club has held weekend meets here before apparently.

Its a lovely spot. The college grounds are very neat. The grass on the Rally field is cut short and there are no clippings left about. We're at the back of the campus towards the farm and equine centre.

Walked into Durham taking the road route this pm Pleasant walk.
