A photo of the day thread

It means you need to use your levellers if you wild camp. :)

Oh dear that's a long wait , but the insurance company would have trouble sourcing such a long vehicle . At least you had a toilet and food while waiting but hope it's sorted very soon so you can be on your travels.

Seven hours??? Was that for diagnostic, or for recovery?

Interested to know @BMM , did you use the van while you were waiting, or were you advised to stay out of it? (I'm thinking back to the near-disaster of other broken-down Funsters)
Mini kelpies, not managed to get to the full size ones this time

Would they fit in my garden...?

It took 7 hours for the RAC to arrive, I didn't even get the usual patrol van, the only vehicle that came to me was the truck in the picture after a 7 hour wait. I did stay in the RV despite having a heated discussion with the Highways Agency who threatened to issue a statutory move notice (what ever that is)

That's a awfully long wait. But, I suppose, a specialist recovery vehicle - did they say how far they'd come?

I guess I'd be tempted to go into the RV /mh but after pollyandarthur's experience last year I think (hope) I'd resist and not do it, even for the loo

That's not a criticism, just a point of view (y)

It came from 2 junctions away, less that 15 mins. I wouldn't normal stay in the vehicle but as I'd lost drive and parking brake I had to keep my foot on the brake to stop it rolling into the carriageway.

Complaint in the offing then?

I've got to wait for them to deliver the RV yet it's still sitting on the back of the truck in their yard. It took so long to get recovered that the garage I was on the way to closed so they are going to deliver it on Monday.

Looks like a nice forest site, where is it?
It's the "Camping in the Forest" site called "Setthorns" in the New Forest. Limited facilities, will need your own toilet/shower etc. First time we've been here, nice and quiet with wildlife close at hand, would definitely come back. We are on a "Select" pitch right at the back, dogs can run straight into the forest from the pitch.

A couple more pics taken from the pitch here today...

Very nice! We stayed in Ashurst not long ago. I think its worth a visit, next to railway stn, and a couple of pubs. Decent toilet / shower block too.

Open gardens this weekend at a friend's house. The most lovely garden, she has some ceramic poppies from the Tower of London exhibition surrounded by beds of wild flowers where the poppies looked stunning this morning.
