A photo of the day thread

We held a Hawaiian themed welcome home for our (almost) son in law this weekend. He's spent a few months flying his Royal Naval Wildcat helicopter somewhere very hot. Don't ask me why it was Hawaiian but apparently it's not politically correct to dress up as peps from where he's been! Anyway Mr Mousy entered into the spirt of the evening...

Dawn .. I think Martin should DEFINITELY be one of our Funster Male Calendar models. That is a BRILLIANT photo.

Thanks Joy, we had a great night. You may be able to see him in all his glory at the new forest meet, as he's under the impression its Hawaiian fancy dress instead of Halloween. I might set him straight before we go:whistle:

Hedgehogs have been visiting the garden (and that of our neighbour) regularly during 2016 but we've only seen one in the daytime previously. Today, though, I happened to glance out of the back window just before 1pm and saw one. Thinking it may be searching for food I put out a pile of mealworms next to a water bowl already there. The hedgehog had a good feed and then went off into the ivy against the garage. I glanced out a short while afterwards and saw it walking down the garden so followed it and watched as it went under the fence into the school field beyond. I've always been led to believe that hedgehogs are only seen in daytime if they are sickly but this one was certainly feeding and walking strongly so, hopefully, will be OK.

Today's walk took us up above Hawes on a lovely autumnal day. On the advice of MHF we stopped off for a pint at The Green Dragon on our way back.
