2strokes

That's like a 'who's who' list of bikes for people with little legs lol..

Yes I do have short legs!
But if you notice a lot of my bikes were off roaders, I was into long distance trials, & laneing!:)

Yeah, not many bikes I'd want to ride far on the road there, could see the 'theme'... when I started at the top and got 5 bikes down, I knew there would be a Pampera somewhere near the bottom LOL.

Just adore 2 strokes you need to try a TZ750 just a thing that makes you grin, On the road though the most exiting I rode was the RG250 Gul-Arm rear end, I was disappointed when I rode the RD 500 the 350LC was better value RG 500 was OK but for grin factor the RG250 hands down(y)

Showing my age, I used to race a TZ750. An early, twin shock one.

Bored so just looked through the posts had a lot of bikes over the years 2 and 4 stroke one of my favourites was a yamaha TDR 250 dual purpose ypvs system went like bat out of hell till me and bike had argument with car the bike was written off

I have had a lot of small capacity 2 strokes the best 50cc was the unrestricted Puch Monza, flew by a lot other machines with that one. another one was the Suxuki 80cc supersport 2 up down a huge hill east of Derby 70 mph came up running on Jet 100. The most exciting was the Yamaha tuned Lc 125 again 2 up this time going up a steep hill hit the poweband and wow the front end seemed to rise a little and what a thrill. The strokers are good for back lane scratching and the sheer get up a go from the traffic lights happy memories

Went over Matlock on the DV and parked up and viewed the bikes-lovely Dunstall Kettle and a few Kwak triples.

Were they the ones that the middle cylinder used to overheat and seize the engine up?

I was 'in' with the local dealers when the rd500 and rg500 road bikes were launched. I remember the RG being pretty impressive.

The bike that got away for me though was the kettle. Still thinking about getting one though, plenty out there.

Anyone wanting a quick fix of 2 stroke I can recommend a visit here

http://www.dkmotorcycles.com/ at Newcastle under lyme staffs

They have a nice selection of KH triples including a couple of specials and last time I was there also had a nice selection of GT Suzukis and a couple of rotary s

I also remember visiting the Barton factory in North Wales, they were modifying suzuki triples

http://cybermotorcycle.com/euro/wikig/Barton-Engineering.html

They produced the bike that starred in the cinematic classic (not) Silver Dream racer

Remember chasing a stolen RG500 Gamma M1 Northbound in a marked police Rover SD1 Vitesse. We wound both windows down to suck in all of those lovely fumes as it f####d off in to the sunset.

Use to like the old scramble and trials meets when they used Castrol R, you could get addicted to that smell.:):)
I use to use strawberry fully synthetic 2t oil in my bikes but not the same:(

Snetterton paddock in the sixties, Castrol R and frying bacon, magic, I still add a teaspoon ful of R in my four strokes to this day.(y)
