our dash display shows no current fuel [instant mpg] on dash display does however show some random letters or emblems this is uconnect syst and the radio screen will display the readings [dont look correct though] fiat have now spent several weeks trying to resolve this on our new van. interested if anyone has or had same problem

I've been sorting out getting the extended warrty on my series 8. The lady I've been dealing with sent me this as part of our correspondence

'there is a small recall outstanding for the Instrument Panel Software Update. Campaign number 6463 – this can be completed whilst you wait.'

I've tried googling to find out more details about it but haven't had any luck, I wonder if it's to resolve the issue that you have. I haven't encountered the issue.

Yes there were two outstanding service recalls inc the radio software update. This has been completed. Has not cured this problem

I have this problem on mine. Supposedly fiat are having a software re write done but no progress so far. North East Truck and Van at Carlisle did a software update for something or other and made no difference. Been waiting a long time now.

No instant or trip 1 & 2 average
On a couple of occasions they have worked for a few seconds only
Input for all 3 from same source
Told it is a software rewrite by Fiat to sort it. I was first with this issue at north east van and truck with issue but they have now seen more with the issue
Happy to share info but in France for another 4 weeks and saving roaming data for Search for sites and nav

Ok thanks appreciate your situation re data no hurry as my van is back at swift until end of month and fiat have asked for access again by there hotshot engineer when i get it back
For your info mine is june 22 and it has been investigated by fiat since jully 22 including a day by the factory hotshot without resolve

Can i ask is yours a swift
Have you had alarm and or tracker fitted
Keen to see if there is a pattern between the vans

Mine is doing the same! no current mpg and no average in trip A or B....also getting airbag and check parking brake warning light. Alarm and tracker fitted. Had a software update the other day which made naff all difference apart from resetting my digital display to Italian!

Mine is early 2023. Not 2.3 fiat but 2.2 Peogot engine. Tracker/alarm fitted and had many issues such as power steering fails auto box issues etc. Tracker disconnected and those issues went away. Wrong tracker was fitted as updated peogot engine talked through canbus at different rate. Updated tracker sorted it out. Mpg still didn't work anyway. Also still keep losing some of my settings like door auto locking and indicator flashing when lock and unlock

Mine is also 2.2, although I've learnt off another thread this 'new' 2.2 unit isn't the Peugeot/Citroen but the 2.2 they stuck in the Jeep Cherokee from 2016 onwards (2184cc) so it's a Fiat group engine. I'm going to take my tracker out in the next few days as I suspect I had my mpg data before I installed it.

If you have the Dethleffs you list in your profile it will be a Fiat engine also I don't think you can have an auto box with the Peugeot engine.

Well tracker certainly is a poss. I had one fitted day after delivery global electronics So unable to say if mpg worked prior. Alarm fitted at same time We get random things where instant/mpg should be
And on a tank fill check ave mpg reading is miles out

You will be correct re my engine as it is 2184cc. My tracker was fitted from new but even disconnected did not help re mpg. It did sort out numerous other issues but it was wrong tracker for the 2184 engine. My mom by calculation is mostly around 26 ish

please let us know if removing tracker makes a difference is your van a series 8 base

Will do, I'm taking it out later today and taking it back to motorhome dealer to have shower fixed so will see if it makes a difference. Then on Friday it's going back to Fiat dealer. They think there might be a fault with the 12v battery.

Took tracker out and then went to fill up with fuel. Still same issues, nothing or random symbols where current mpg should be

Yep thats def same seam strange only appears to have affected just a few vans and different builders. So we have to keep badgering fiat for an answer. Almost a year for me now

Oh that's not good. We leave the UK next month so unlikely I'll get it sorted before then!

This thread has been very informative for me as I have never really got to grips with the information given on trip A or Trip B.
In fact trip B resets every time the engine is turned of, pretty useless for a days trip.
I recall once seeing average mpg on one of the Trips but never again!
Mines registered July 22 and it did go back for a software update at my Fiat Main Dealer, I never noticed anything different.
Here is the admission, I just thought it was me and I just gave up on it. I don’t think the UConnect functions as it should either but once again I couldn’t find any explanations anywhere in the manual so I just gave up.
In my Moho it is just an expensive radio.
I look forward to hearing how others get on so I can take mine back to the main dealer armed with some knowledge.

I'm pushing for a new 12v battery to sort out the intermittent airbag and parking brake fault warning lights. Would be interesting to see if that fixes this issue too. Fiat professional customer care want me to ring them when it's at the dealer Friday, not sure what ideas they have come up with.

Suggest you make it known to fiat. The more known to be faulty the quicker they may work at a resolution and to log your claim

Bit of a wasted day today at Fiat, they've logged the fault the mpg with Fiat UK but we leave the UK in 3 weeks so looking unlikely I'll get this fixed before we go so will just have to live with it. Just done a manual calculation of mpg and it is way off anyway!

Just had a victron battery charger installed so probably the first time the 12v battery has been charged to 100% and my mpg has come back! always thought it was battery related. Will post back if anything changes.

Just been talking with NE Truck and Van about a new issue which I will post a new thread about. Anyway NETV couldn't find my previous details at first but then discovered that Fiat have cancelled the issue re the MPG readouts as there is NO solution ! Anyone else aware. I realise it is not critical, well to me anyway, but it doesn't seem fair that they can just go ahead and do that or does it ?

Last i heard about 6 weeks ago a fix was still being sorted i will email to see if i get same info
And no i dont think they should have any right to drop it. Unless they are all like it which does not seem the case. How can it be a no fix
