Thanks Mike, went there today but he wasn't there, not much going on at all, certainly no motorhomes.Couldn't get much sense out of the chaps there.Do I need an international calling code?

Many thanks,AL:Smile:

Over enthusiastic beer o'clock is an understatement.
It started at lunchtime when we invited Colin and Christina to share a tajine we had cooked. A few bottles of red later and we were joined for beer o'clock by Dazzlin and it just continued from there until about 10:30pm when Colin did a "Captain Oates" and disappeared to be found later deep asleep and snoring in his bunk.
Darren was also found deep asleep but in his seat at the table.
The timeline is more than a little hazy but at various points in the proceedings a very special sherry was produced by Darren and Lyn which of course would have gone off once opened so it had to be finished off! It was lovely tasting as Gwen put it "like liquid Christmas pudding"
Which prompted the opening of a Christmas cake we had brought from home. Followed by mature Cheddar cheese with biscuits.
A good night was had by all but unfortunately a good morning was not. Some of the perpetrators required copious amounts of caffeine and / or medication before normal service could be resumed.

Mustafa Agadir

I have two numbers for Mustafa, not sure which is the right one....
066 5727 103
061 5616 246
One of them is definitely correct.
Hi Mike,
Thanks again,he must have(no pun intended!!)realised Iwas trying to phone him and he rang me.Will see him tomorrow.
Where are you and Kiwi Colin now?

Cheers Al.

Today has been a day of chores for the Makems. The washing machine has been well used but everything is now clean dry and put away. Just in time as I would have had to start wearing used under crackers inside out otherwise:Eeek:
I have also swept the fridge chimney, washed the van inside and out, filled up water, showered and have just finished eating a delicious shepherds pie created by Gwen in the Remoska. Yum!
It's been a beautiful day and Kiwi went off with Christina to see the Kasbah at Ait Benhaddou.
They arrived back just as the clock was chiming beer o'clock. Fortunately I had checked the fridge contents earlier and spotted that yesterday's enthusiastic session had completely emptied it of beer. Sufficient time therefore to restock and ensure plenty of cold ones available otherwise it would have simply been "o'clock"
Just as we sat down Jim and Liz arrived and parked up next to us after a long drive from Tata. We all had a most enjoyable couple of beers before the sun went down on another glorious Moroccan day.

Returning from Tangier-Med

Just an addendum to my post about procedures at Tangier-Med, which you will recall ended with us waiting on the quayside........

Well it turned out that there indeed was a (fast) ferry missing. The one we got finally departed at 1630 and took an hour and a half to cross, then around 20 mins to debark and clear customs and immigration - and we were one of the first off.

Suffice it to say that in summary, we arrived at the port around 1030, and got onto Lidl carpark (well Mercadona actually, beautifully clean toilets) at 2000. In other words it took all day.

We may well have been unlucky but all you people now heading back - suggest you allow a complete day for the crossing.

Safe travels everyone!:thumb:

last year we went for the 2.30pm boat , it was over 5 hours late , , finally got to algecerias lidl car park at 1,30 am the next day , :Eeek:
it was manic the moroccans and the french shouting and blasting horns, the port officials move us 3 times to different jetties ,they couldnt decide which jetty to use , it was like wacky races up and down the port quayside and the police just stood there and wached , :Eeek:

dredding going back this time already

Hope you have a better crossing .........

Hi - further to my previous about taking your dog to Morocco - just an update.

I returned to the UK this morning via the tunnel with our Border Terrier. I had no problems at all with the Border Police - they looked are our passports (the dog's being checked earlier), never asked where we had been and I was straight through.

I was a bit anxious as someone had mentioned I might have a problem returning to the UK but it was all very straight forward.

You'd better believe it Andy - they weather in Spain and France was poor so he was going a bit stir crazy in the van.

Left Tagazout Beach this morning and had a lovely run to Essaouira, sun out quiet but good roads and to top it all we pulled over got out of the van to watch a herd of goats climbing the Argan Trees, the shepherd just sitting under his tree not bothering us for a tip for the many photos we took, one even took a likening to Ed and kept following us.
We then carried on our journey, there were a couple of markets and I have never seen so many well fed if well laden donkeys travelling on the road.
We are now parked up on the guardian area at Essaouiara, well away from the fish restaurants but overlooking the sea.
Had a walk around the medina and bought some really nice spices for lemon chicken and curry, such a good smell.
Tomorrow will be another adventure.

We sadly left Tafraoute today and already regretting it
Mohamed did a reasonable job of the bodywork and painted our carpet tube as well. He promised the colour would match after weathering, but I have my doubts
Had a terrific drive down through the Palm filled Gorge of Ait-Mansour then a wonderful twisty drive along the road that is not on the Michelin map across to Izerbi then on to Tiznit, we are parked up in the Riad so close compared to Tafraoute and as much a night as a week there.
Will just have a couple of days for a bit of technical shopping then look for somewhere with space.... Maybe try Mirleft any other suggestions.
