With regards to the one picture at a time problem, I also post, almost exclusively, on my ipad and have only ever been able to post one photo at a time. Not sure why but I remember being told a while a go that the way round it was to download the photos to a storage site and then load them on to here from there.

However, it is quite possible that I have completely misunderstood that solutions and be talking a complete load of cr*p!

If it's the tajine then I'm going to get it too.

In which case it's not just tena lady we will need but bass, baritone, soprano and alto as well

Chefchouan!!!

Guys,

Just wanted to add a post about Chefchouan (wrong spelling I think, sorry!) After our arrival last night, we woke up to a lovely sunny day in the mountains, and the views were STUNNING!!!

Worth visiting for that alone!

However, as it was our last day in Maroc, and they are low on tourists at this time of year, it's worth going to for bargains, very good haggling to be had, people there are desperate for money.

The old town is really beautiful and a great location for good photo's.

Fabulous last day and a must see really, the drive to Tetouan and Tangier is breathtaking.

Check if the Trigano dealer next door to Mustafa sells spare toilet cassettes. We sympathise - get the immodium down you. Failing that ask Mustafa to get some proper stuff from the pharmacy

Hope you are feeling better, glad to say think we are all quite well at Tag beach, we have been joined today by Terry L & Brenda and Mr & Mrs Portland.
The weather he has been a lot better today with only a small amount of wind.

Ed and I are reverting back and turning into hippies I think, we walked the beach this afternoon with argan oil in my hair to protect it, wondered around in flip flops and shorts, sat watching the surfers catching particularly large waves as there was a high tide that had us scrabbling up the rocks.

The Beach had surfers / hippies / camels / horses and just a life about it despite the plastic bottles that had got washed up on the high tide.

When we got back we had seen a very large yellow bus pull up the night before, and been curious (nosey)I wondered over to have a look, and got talking to a lovely Dutch couple, she was giving massage at 60 durum, so there I was on a large massage chair the sound of the Atlantic the sun and having one of the best massages I have had, yes life on this beach is good. :thumb:

We bought a motorhome but kept our narrowboat in case we didn't take to motor homing. After a year it was fait accompli - the boat was duly sold and we don't miss it one iota. The canals are becoming choked and the camaraderie is no longer the same any more on the cut.
Plus unless you are prepared to continually cruise you can either go left or right on the canal where you keep your boat.

I cannot post pictures.

I have recently taken a fair number of photos of our get-togethers at Taghazout. First on a tablet, then on my phone, then on another tablet. I don't have internet access from any off them so use a USB link to load onto my laptop in which I have a dongle. For the last few days the laptop has refused to acknowledge that any photos exist on the other devices and therefore won't mount any. As they aren't on the laptop I cannot post them. SORRY

Tonight to add insult to injury the laptop won't show DVDs. It seems that Cyberlink Power DVD is shagged as well.

The opera chorus has finally shut up. Maybe the fat lady has sung?
After copious amounts of Immodium peace has returned to the Makems vanhold.
Now however I am wide awake with nothing to do except trawl through threads on Fun.
I must say the threads about dog shit are most un-Fun-like. Some people have got a really bad attitude and I'm surprised Jim hasn't invoked Rule 1.
Oh well, back to bed to see if I can sleep........

Propane

Malcolm- there is a way to get propane at Tagazhoute. Sorry, I don't read the forum often and didn't realise you were having problems.
Phone Said on 0668391238. He can direct fill from a tank in a van.
He can also fill a butane bottle with propane provided the butane bottle is 2012 or newer.
The cost is 5x that of butane at 190Dh to fill a 12kg.
Im now using it, and have no smell, burners all blue, no yellow flames.

Yes we can confirm the propane story. He took our bottle away for two days and returned it filled with propane. He told me he went to Marrakech for it. 190D to fill the bottle which SilverF1 gave us.

Stephen later remarked that same guy can fill gaslow type bottles from his van but we didn't see any evidence of that, suspect he takes the gas low bottles to Marrakech.

For £14.39p and a 200 mile plus round trip to Marrakech and back I consider the propane to be a bargain :thumb: Much better than mucky butane clogging your jets and smelling as if its leaking

Keep the sand

Will those of you in Morocco please keep the sand where it belongs – in the desert. We have a south wind at the moment, when I was out this morning it rained for a few minutes and my truck is now covered in a sandy mess. I get home and the back yard is covered in sand.

Now I have to clean the truck & the Yard.

Tonka trio update.....
Been offline for a short while.... Stayed at a lovely site in the palms at Foum Zguid for 2 nights.... On entry we got greeted by "Rachid" on his moped, he has a resturant you know !! So we should visit.....
So at teatime a 10 min walk into the village, Very friendly with lots of people saying hello and welcome...

Found his "resturant" which looked very dissapointing but we had promised.. He gave us the the menu "from his mouth". that is he told us how about chicken kebab, chips, onions and tomatoes... With bread and olives... We had took our own alcohol and no issue to drink it there.. When the food did arrive it was really nice :thumb: Then the wind started, roar roar blow blow was an understatement.. Stuff flying down the street..!! then the power went out.. We eat by the headlight of his moped parked in the doorway and later candles.. No way could we find our way back in the dark so we had a lift back in his car..:thumb:
Seems the local transmitter may have gone off line, hence no posting from us..
Next day hit the village and again a very friendly welcome off lots of people, A guy in the market gave us a few big oranges to try but then refused to sell us any as he said the rest on his truck were not very good...
Bought veg and 2 huge slices of beef, so a 2 tagine meal was made for 6 of us to feast on...

The blow out !!!

Rough road on route...

A shout on the radio from the back... !! Tyre gone...
Andrew had a rear offside blowout... Luckily he had a spare wheel, BUT. no jack or wheel brace.

Champers had a good bottle jack and my brace fitted. So we did a lesson on wheel changing and had it all sorted in no time. Several vans and cars slowed to ask if we were ok... :Smile:

Including a car on route to Gambia !!

Any decisions yet on the route for the next leg Steve? Unfinished road or longer detour? Risky if Andrew hasn't had his puncture repaired. Don't fancy my chances of changing the inner one of twin back wheels if we had a puncture :Sad:

The blow out was on the "better" longer route.!!! Very mixed road..
Having a break and then heading direction of Quarzatte or Zagora, deciding when on way...

We have had a great day at Tafraoute. Managed to get a Mat, a Tagine and our hooded coats so we will be suitably dressed for evening drinks if we bump into the Tonka group again :Smile:

Going to stay another day as getting the washing done tomorrow. :thumb:

propane

On my previous post about propane, I mentioned Said the propane man. He runs around in a nearly new grey van and comes onto the site at Tagazhoute- I mentioned his phone number.
He can fill bottles from a tank in the van. He charges Dh110 per 6.5kg cylinder. Strange that this is more expensive pro rata than filling up a 12Kg for Dh190 but there you go.
Whilst I was talking to him, Mustafa the excellent mechanic/gas fitter/body shop proprietor wandered along and they were clearly on good terms. Mustafa confirmed Said's claims and added that it's only possible to fill a butane cylinder with propane if the date on the cylinder is 2012 onwards, which ours is.
Hope that clarifies a bit further, Malcolm.
We are still in Taroudant, a really interesting and friendly town. Weve been measured for upholstery and tomorrow we will have a price to haggle over Inshallah.
There are no facilities for waste or fresh water here. Yesterday the guardian wandered off with our cassette and came back with it empty and charged Dh10. Poor bugger, Id have paid Dh500.....
This afternoon he took me to fill up with water. After driving right around the walled town, I joined the queue for the hose in a builders yard behind a donkey cart and a mule cart. My hose pipe got dragged through donkey and mule crap and lots of other unidentifiable dross. I think it will be ok with a quick wipe....
Cost me Dh20 and two tins of Flammenwerfer Pils from Lidl. Or is it Graffengripper, or Earschplittenlaudenboomer?
Anyway, it was a more interesting experience than waiting for a water truck to pull alongside!!

Sue would like it be be noted that, all the time I was enjoying myself in a mule train , she was left on a chair guarding our spot in the (full) parking area! She sat for an hour, and the result is that- on my return- I am blocking 2 French vans in, who insisted on parking where they now are despite being told that I was on my way back. It will be interesting if they want to leave at 7am.......
It did cross her mind that if I didn't come back, all she'd have was the clothes she was wearing and a camping chair.
