10 Year LPG Tank / Cylinder Testing/Inspection/Replacement

Propane pressures are much higher than domestic gas. If a corroded tank or perished pipe ruptured the gas could erupt in a spectacular fashion. A small spark might be enough to set off a BLEVE (Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapour Explosion) and you really don’t want to be anywhere near if that happens.
Yes agree, but installing a new bottle and pipes by diy at worst would be a cross threaded or loose pipe I guess, and not in a confined space…

agree, smoking etc whilst doing it would be a bit daft….

The main reason you aren’t allowed to store or use propane cylinders indoors.
That’s why we will NOT sell refillable LPG cylinders to anyone who thinks they are going to use them indoors , they all want them for cabinet heaters at the moment ⚠️

They are GasIt Lenny HB, I am confident that they are manufacture date as the new ones say 2021 which I find a bit bizarre that they had had stock sitting there for at least a year.

The hoses also have a 2016 date stamp which in my experience is usually the manufactured date.
Just a little observation .... I got a Gaslow hose as part of my Gaslow Filler kit and it had two different dates on it (5 years difference depending on their usage) and both were years that have not arrived and many years into the future, so clearly a use until date and not a manufactured date.
Obviously other manufacturers might have different ways to mark dates.

There are several countries, of which Greece is the one most in my knowledge, where cylinder gas is what is predominately used for cooking in areas outside the main cities. The gas cylinders sit next to the cooker.

I have no idea whether that is legal in those countries.

Our friends in France are the same.
