So

we’re going to the NEC on thursday, we’ll be there a max of 6 hours possibly less looking to spend (maybe) £225000 less PX
on an A Class

1. max 8mtrs

2. Not white (silver)

3. 2 berth (poss 4) so 4 belts

4. Island bed (poss singles)

5. double floor but don’t want to have to climb a staircase to get in/out

6. big garage for folding elec bikes, chairs, table but no high bed inside

7. Must be auto and poss Merc but not essential so Iveco or something else

8. enough roof room for 600w min solar

This will poss be our last motorhome so good build quality with no shitty dealer backup service would be nice

Dealer max 2 hours but pre preferred less from West Yorks, is their any good dealers out there ???

Can you think of anything else and i’m not a fan of the TV in the hab door entrance either

cheers
Al

PS. Val will not entertain rouffle leather so has to be nice n smooth

We have just returned home and I must say I really enjoyed today. We only went to have a nosey and look at possibilities for the future. There were so many vans to look at and now I am so confused. Thought we may change down to a PVC but I found them too narrow and after having our big overcab I am loathe to start making beds up. My daughter is about to start her own conversion on a Lwb Boxer so we passed on a few ideas to her.
One thing that really made me cross was a few vans had no oven but a grill/oven thing above the dinette table!!!! Who the heck is tall enough to reach that there and why on earth would you want one up that high above your lovely seats and cushions? That has disaster written all over it.
Not all pvc vans require beds to be made up. Ours doesn’t.

One of the reasons I can’t help thinking that I must be mad to change

Another £100k + maybe, new dealer who’s farther away, no overnight stop and crap service, it’s scary to think about
I would wait and go to Düsseldorf where you can spend some real money instead of looking at Bobby Basic vans 👍

I hope your not referring to a Cathargo Steve, £265k on something that’s looks like it’s from the 70’s doesn’t float our boat and i’ve already said I don’t want a Morelo 🤣

You have, lots of times ;) and my curiosity is getting the better of me, yes I know they are white but the leather is smooth(y) and no ruffle, RWD auto so good on that front, 8m max I suppose limits the choice and to honest we would struggle to find one we liked at that length, then of course the price is getting silly, maybe I have answered the question myself but if there is anything I have missed feel free to fill in the blanks.

Oh yes, only one dealer but not far from you I think:unsure:

No blanks to fill in Martin apart from we simply don’t like the height of them and the fact we’d need to climb anything from 5 to 7 poss more steps to get into it.

My first hip replacement lasted me 25 years, with a Morelo i’m thinking nearer to 5 lol.

Having had 3 total hip joint replacements I can speak from experience it’s well worth having it done, especially if it goes ok as mine have, but it’s not a pleasant experience so preserving them is paramount. 😉

No Carthago is worth £265k I know I have one 🤣 ours isn’t old fashioned inside but does have some wood effect, but I do see what you mean a lot of German vans do resemble a set of a seventies porn movie 🤣

Very true, we did see some nice transverse bed ones. One had an amazing pull out cupboard that revealed the shower. Very clever. So a double use of space. I think we are just to used to all the space in our current van even though we don’t really need it 😂 We need to think a little more rationally.

Why not buy a Volkner then, you can tell them exactly how you want it and they will build it custom for you, each one is unique, and you wouldn’t have to worry about having too much coin in your account for a while🤷🏻‍♂️😎😇😆

I would not like to own a PVC with a transverse bed that I could sleep in at 6:3” 🤣
