We had the app to assist us as to the locations of these Ninots that will all be burnt Tuesday night. Some are still being built.
Paula even managed to be ready to leave at 0900 and off we set ..... Til my front tyre was flat. Quick change of inner tube in the pits and off we went.
We headed for the cathedral before the masses (sic) arrived for the 1400 fireworks. We dumped our bikes inside the large cordoned off area with numerous police on traffic duty. Then walked round to cathedral where we saw 9 euros to enter ! Ye Gods! You can guess we didn't pay. Then we used the fallas app not really caring which ones we saw. The app gives locations of the HUGE ones but there are smaller ones as well in between. You don't really need a route, they just appear. They seem to have a marquee next to them and refreshments in the form of beer will be available at sometime. The prices in the shops were extortionate. Nearly 9 euros for ham baguette.
First one of the Doves is massive and next to the fireworks.
This where the fireworks go on
The cathedral we passed on
Then the market. Well worthy of going around. Must have been 30 fishmongers.
Street markets all over the place. Valencia town centre is pedestrianised by the police
When we were coming away we found this garden and cycled through that. It was actually a cycle route
And at the end the classiest cover of a wc we have ever seen
Street lights adorn some streets and will be beautiful at night
And at last we saw a tram on tram bridge
And me walking to the beach in my slippers because it made sense
