We are at the free Aire at Meung Sur Loire (which may get it's own journal entry from a quick viewing last night.
The fair was adjacent to us when we pulled in but they were gone by 2200 having shut up shop at 1800.
It is about 20km west of Orleans on the Loire and only the first bridge over la Loire west of Orleans.
The cycleway is over the bridge from the Aire as there is a tempting "Orleans 19km" sign if you stay on the north bank. Highly probable not be worth it as there will be traffic that way whereas traffic free route the other side.
La Loire is quite high to when we have seen it around these parts. No dry areas at all in the middle and quite fast flowing.
But the first pic is of le loiret just prior to it joining la Loire at st hilaire. It isn't the most scenic of cycles but it is very good tarmac.
Just before Orleans was a furnace. No idea what it burnt though. Presuming a crematorium.
Then Orleans from the cycleway
Before the door porn with wife for context at the cathedral
An impressive cathedral
Then street wondering
Before we saw a PMU bar in the sun on a busy 5 way junction controlled with lights and tramway with cycle routes everywhere. This was heaven for us just watching the near misses and the different types of escooters and ebikes carrying things on top in front and behind....or it was until I got the bill. 8.60 for 2 Grimburgens ! Too much of Spanish prices have spoilt us.
More town walking with Paula obviously under the influence of a Grimburgen.
Then I treated her to lunch which wasn't a bargain KFC or bargain offer at burger king, but a back alley dirty kebab shop used by students. 15 euros for 2 big kebabs chips and a coke. No guess the cost of the meal on this journal !
Off in search of the gardens after we found the shop from 8 years ago where we bought a ride on fire truck for our first grandchild. We didn't manage to find the spot Paula fell off her bike pissed though !
The gardens are just up from the cathedral and there is probably a small train goes round the park on a line in the summer.
Then we saw this. If you see this from your motorhome you took the wrong route. We know because .....
And the bridge over the river loire
The bikes have been packed up for the holiday now as it is likely to chuck it down all day tomorrow. Thinking of commercial centres as we make our way to Dieppe
