St Antonin to Montricoux voie verte (or not)

Owing the weather we have changed plans left right and centre.
We have about 10 days left but the weather isn't improving greatly so trying to spot disused railway lines or voie vertes without doing research in them is my nightly activity.
I spotted St Antonin was surrounded by what we call greenery, the green bit next to the road on a map so zoomed in on mapy.cz to see a cycle route following the river down, then I search mhf to see who has been here and what they had to say about the place. 3 people mentioned the Aire in "your best aire" thread.
Good enough for me. We got here by 1100 hrs and both of us thought we recognised the place as we came over the river.
Quick walk directly to boulangerie and TO for maps and she told us it was basically flat til Penne and a couple of hills.

We then turned left and found the bar with a covered stone area where we sat watching a band a few (reckoning 8) years ago having a lovely time and obviously before I record everything !
Wondered round narrow alleys and highly likely to return tonight for separate journal entry. It looks lovely just as we finally remembered it.
What a shame about by the bike ride.
Paula normally goes 20 Kms before one of her 5 battery indicators is lost. 14 Kms today. Hardly near the river. No dedicated path, uphill and steep. Then we had to go on the main road for maybe 7 or 8 Kms without the dotted white lines that give cyclists a yard.
We were not impressed.
But the road took us up to some views and a tunnel and jagged rocks into the road AND we found the lovely village of Montricoux. They have a museum there for Lenoir (correct spelling) who is an artist if you have heard of him. Town type photos are all of Montricoux including its 12th C church
As we entered the town we saw we had done 30 Kms and lost 40% battery and saw a sign for Antonin 16kms away.
Quick shifty on the map and all now made sense.
We only had 4 cars overtake us in those 30 Kms. That's because who in their right mind wants to travel 30 Kms instead of 16 straight ones unless you're a tourist.
Decision made to back on the straight road with lots of traffic but it is straight. It also undulates but it also bought us to Cirque de bōne with lovely view of the Aveyron river we had followed.
From the information gained from TO more than enough for us for another day here.
Also feeling like a night out in this lovely town so another entry dedicated to St Antonin Noble Val at some stage
