We left Geldo which we have decided is a spot on Aire. We abused the free water and dump so fully self sufficient forb4 nights (without curry)
Travelled down to Segunto which is about 6km inland from the med.
Found the Aire and nothing wrong with it at all. There are no facilities and it is mixed parking which may put you off in other places but this is huge. Once you find the drop kerb to come in you realise there is a lidls round the corner. So we left and went there to get the necessary. But right next to Lidl we saw a petrol station with AdBlue and the annoying reminder needed shutting up. It was only 65 cents a litre and (excuse me ladies) but there was a right bit of totty insisting on filling it up for me. I was so impressed with her form for filling up I even paid 1.38 for her to fill up with diesel as well. We got back to the Aire and got the bikes out. Kicked the tyres and clarified there was 53psi in mine and used the beautifully marked out cycle route to the med. 27-30 kph down there whilst freewheeling was SO different to previous days. It was like I was in sport mode.
So easy was it we turned left and headed for Casablanca but we passed that ! Unfortunately there isn't a lot to see down here on the beach so we turned round (having failed to find a bar open) and came back to the port of Segunto which didn't impress us as much as we had read. But we pushed the bikes over the soft and got our calves wet and cold.
Paula's chain fell off and I had to put it back on but I had oiled the chain earlier so was caked in it. Ha ha I spotted an UK reg roller team. Hi yer mate any chance of some fairy liquid and about an hour of chat later with Dave and his wife who may or may not be Margaret we made our way back from a 39 km (easy peasy) cycle. So good did I feel, I rang work up and asked to bring forward my OH appointment whilst I am in holiday and return the day after.
I was feeling like mustard now. We could see this big carconnesque castle up the hill. Oh yeah, let's do that baby says I. Got the poles out, put on an ankle support and off we trotted.
Well we got this far up it. I could have done it but it was getting late and concern grew about getting back in daylight on not very good steep paths. Plus we wanted beer.
We then walked round the town
Looking for a beer. Located a 3.80 for 2 large beers bar and may have had a couple.
Given the choice we think the Aire at the beach which can be found on p4n is better than ours. Both are free.
Finishing the night off with an eponymous beer
