Braga and Bom Jesus..................June 2023
We arrived at our campsite just outside Braga where Sue wanted to visit the medieval Braga Cathedral, which is home to a sacred art museum and the Gothic-style Kings' Chapel. And the imposing Archbishop’s Palace which overlooks Santa Barbara Garden. We had caught up with rainy weather again but managed a day walking around the city which was quite pleasant. After two nights we moved on to Canicada but not before a visit to Bom Jesus do Monte. The road to Bom Jesus is very windy and there is a Camping car parking area at the bottom for larger motorhomes, we decided to drive up to the top where we found plenty of parking. It was a Saturday so very busy with back to back weddings. The views from here are incredible and with sun now shining it is a delightful place for a visit, we had a cheese board lunch in the hotel before heading off to our next overnight stop near Canicada on the way to Encoro das Conchas.
