Looked for something a bit different today other than Valencia.
We went off south on the bikes, no real bike tracks on the maps but they are there !
We just sort of followed the road out til we got to a chained off piece of road but cyclists were coming the other way and what is good for the goose....
We went over a bridge where a sign post told us they made eel soup locally and caught the eels in nets.
Then came across a bird sanctuary type lake with loads of different aged students by the coach load all pretending, like us, to know what birds they were
Cycled through a town where our bread was purchased and out onto the big inland lake where it was 5 euros for a boat ride.
Lovely view across the lake but my camera on the phone wouldn't show it.
Further cycle up to El Palmer
Which was mainly on a straight road with 3 single lane bridges. The last of these was traffic light controlled.
As we got over we could see large parking and at least 6 coaches. Ooh what have found we wondered as cycled through the streets. Possibly the highest percentage of restaurants per capita in Europe was probably our answer.
Then they had their own little Fallas
Which we monitored in our daytime fashion
Then a fountain with one coach load of eel soup testers presumably.
And we made our way back. But the bridge was at a standstill and we could see a lady collapse the other side and she went straight down. Paula thought she could CPR occurring so I walked over to help but she was sat on the side.
Eventually the coaches started moving and we could see she had been abandoned by the helpers and was sat against the side rail with her hubby
The car reg was Dutch so checked on her and it was just a bit of anxiety and quickly solved as she got her breathing under control and traffic disappeared.
Then down to the beach for the afternoon and got wet as high as my waist.
Not quite warm enough yet !
