North Wales trip.

From Chirk castle to Ty Mawr campsite.
Screenshot_20250630-151118.webpLast mile was on a very narrow road.
Enjoyed the day there, had a walk along the canal towpath. Scenic enough and I guess if more time available and better weather could explore nicely.
Lovely site, field is right next to the canal and although the facilities block was clean it was "rough and ready".

Now at Bryn Y Ffonnen ccc cs near Mold.
Just a field for a fiver a night.
Can't grumble but the grass could have been shorter
No eggs to get, Fox got the chickens.

We stayed there for a week a couple of years ago, nice and peaceful and cheap, reasonable walk just of site and yes the grass is long but who cares for £5, At least you don’t get grass cuttings in your van🤣

Left early this morning, half way destination Little
Moreton hall.
Screenshot_20250716-101010-982.webpAs said earlier, got there too early so a brew went down well.

Had a good look round the hall and gardens.
It's a "wonky" house.......seems it was built using unseasoned Oak and the foundation stones were laid onto bare earth.
Must have needed loads of upkeep over the centuries.

Yes nice site we went there in August ‘23.
Some nice local walks, a bit steep to go to see the cave.
We are here for one night. Have had a short walk along to village and back.
We picked it as part of our route home so that we could drive through beautiful countryside avoiding A1M and go through Peak district national park past Lady bower reservoir and on past Pontifract towards our final site before home.

Up early this morning.
Muffin and egg for breakfast. Muffins are homemade from I think a Paul Hollywood recipe.
Been making them for years they are miles superior to shop bought.
Will be home in 2 days, we would have preferred at least 2 days at most of the sites we've used but a DIY kitchen beckons, including new flooring.
It's a biggish job and I need to get on with ordering stuff etc. Might be able to steal a few days away here and there.
Screenshot_20250717-071816.webpDark blue route but will deviate slightly to the right of Leeds going through Pontifract instead then about 1 mike on the M62 then A1M north, and will be stopping off at places like Lady Bower reservoir for rest stops.
Leaving soon.

Oh, sounds good but I think we need the recipe 😊
Safe travels

Past Lady Bower reservoir on the way but heavy drizzle so we continued.
Did notice the water level looked low.
Drive through the Derby peak District and Yorkshire was lovely but once past the west of Sheffield was more built up. Had some time with relatives in Pontefract.
Arrived at 15.00. Church Holme ccc cs.

A lovely site with nice amenities.
Very good walking area and is on the coast to coast route.
