Hymer B524 internal habitation door not locking from inside

We have just purchased a 2003 B524, the internal habitation door will not lock from inside, the black button will not push down into the locking position. l took it apart and re-assembled it and it worked for about 5 closures but then it would not engage again. It will lock & unlock with the key fine.

Does anyone have a schematic of the lock mechanism online or know which Part may be worn and where l could get a replacement.

I don't know if this will work for u.i had the same problem,I figured the black button will go down when u lock it with the key.
So with the door open and the key in the lock,I turned the key a tiny bit at a time,and kept trying to push the button down.Result at a certain point (in my case when the key was at 10 o clock) the button went down. I assume someone previously had tried to break in and had damaged the lock.When I go away now before we go to sleep I make sure the hab door lock is at 10 o clock ,and when closed the black button goes down.I hope this will work for u.Btw mine is a 2002 b574.

Looks like you have a spring missing.

I had to replace it in mine and this is the part I ordered from Travelworld

We are newbies and our first post on the site just the other day explains that we have the same problem in that we can not lock it from the inside...the button won't go down. I know this is a long shot as it was quite a long time ago but did you get to the bottom of the issue.
Assuming you still have the MH. ?

Hi Tony,

I replaced the spring as above, l also found that when l unlocked the door, the position of the lock needs to be vertical to enable me to lock it from the inside. I never quite understood why but it has been fine since.

Try setting the lock in different positions until you can press the button from inside and lock the door.

Same for me, I have to set mine at around 10 o clock then it will lock from the in side
