So

we’re going to the NEC on thursday, we’ll be there a max of 6 hours possibly less looking to spend (maybe) £225000 less PX
on an A Class

1. max 8mtrs

2. Not white (silver)

3. 2 berth (poss 4) so 4 belts

4. Island bed (poss singles)

5. double floor but don’t want to have to climb a staircase to get in/out

6. big garage for folding elec bikes, chairs, table but no high bed inside

7. Must be auto and poss Merc but not essential so Iveco or something else

8. enough roof room for 600w min solar

This will poss be our last motorhome so good build quality with no shitty dealer backup service would be nice

Dealer max 2 hours but pre preferred less from West Yorks, is their any good dealers out there ???

Can you think of anything else and i’m not a fan of the TV in the hab door entrance either

cheers
Al

PS. Val will not entertain rouffle leather so has to be nice n smooth

Certainly a decent budget so I’d think you’ll have a choice.

Carthago 51 QB (Queen bed) on a Mercedes chassis. Tag axle.
Or a Carthago 50 LE (twin singles) on a Mercedes tag axle. 8.05 metres.
I think it ticks all your boxes, except it’s 8.05 or 8.1 metres.
Go European (Cannock) have staff at the NEC on the Carthago stand. Good deals to be had at the moment.
I think there’s a new 50 LE sat at Go European now at just over £200K

A Morelo would be white and sadly well outside the budget so two fails straight away, having spent the day in the show I am glad that we are not looking to change the van as there was nothing that tickled our fancy.

Budget won’t stretch to a Morelo

Never looked at the price of them just seem to have that figure in my head that someone on here paid, possibly a few years ago or secondhand.

Great fleas have little fleas upon their backs to bite 'em,
And little fleas have lesser fleas, and so ad infinitum.
And the great fleas themselves, in turn, have greater fleas to go on;
While these again have greater still, and greater still, and so on.

It is a delightfully broad church, isn't it?

My current criteria, achievable for rather less money, include being below 3,500kg, the ability to go anywhere and cross from the UK to Portugal in 2 days, car-like. :giggle:

I might have suggested a direct import, but that would clearly fail the 2 hours from West Yorks test.

Happy hunting!

Carthago maybe. 🤔

We went to the Carthago factory in Germany last month and i’d have put money down on the Liner for 2, but it had rouffle leather and a china cabinet for gods sake.

Who the Fiddlesticks wants a china cabinet, my mam chucked hers out 40 yrs ago lol so unless they bring me a modern looking one i’m not interested 🤣

Apart from that it was nice 👍

Maybe there will have to be a couple of compromises ;) there usually is to be fair.

Adria supersonic fits your bill.

It does and we nearly bought one but hate the dark interior and dark floors, just made it look a bit gloomy for us whereas our Rapido is nice and bright and arguably better build quality.

My mate has a Supersonic, infact 2 have and both have said ours rattles a whole lot less

Lovely looking van though 👍

We were Gary but you know when you get an itch 😉

That and we need to spend some money as I know dam well the kids will just flutter it away a bloody lot quicker than it’s taken me to earn it once we’re gone 😱🤣

Excuse my ignorance, but what is ruoffle leather?

I agree with you about the cabinet in the Liner for Two.

I’m also not sure about the canvas around the beds at the front in the Liner for Two. I get the feeling it may feel a bit like sleeping in a tent.

Been today not too busy, able to have a good look at certain models, our wish list is slightly different but liked a Frankia on a merc, and a Dethleffs.

Take a look at these car seats where the leather looks like it’s sagged and they’ve tried to stitch it tight again

In our opinion it’s a 70’s look, others may love it but we don’t

You can have the Iveco Liner For Two at 7.8 meters which deletes the china cabinets at the rear & spec plain leather or fabric trim.
