Parked up for the afternoon (and night) at Kandel high up in the Black Forest. 1242 metres above sea level. Fun watching the paragliders take off through the open back doors of our PVC. Also a bit cooler up here. Been reaching 32'C last few days, with forecast to get even hotter.
Lovely, quiet night's sleep after a fantastic sunset. About another half dozen vans parked overnight with us. More early morning paragliders arriving as I type.

Nicer view than Dobeleplatz where we overnighted a few years back.
Yes. It's a fantastic spot right on the Rhine and only 10 minutes walk into the old town and Munster. On a sunny Sunday, great for people watching too. As well as the folk launching motor boats from the slip, there are paddle boarders, cyclists, picnicing families, topless sunbathers, zeppelin airships and hot air balloons floating past. Something for everyone!
Just one other van overnighting with us last night. A little less manic this morning before we left at 9.00 sharp when the parking charges kick in.

We like this lay-by better than paying £30 a night. The campsites will maybe follow the pubs and price themselves out of the market. Anyway that's for the other thread.
