Paul Merton and Suki hitting the roads again.

There was one shot (about 2 seconds) on yesterdays episode where it was on ramps, be it only halfway up the ramps.
TWIS earlier here in this thread but there were several “ramp” shots on my telly and they looked to be past 1/2 way 🤔🤣👍

It’s the period of the programme around when Paul is walking to & from the bin and Suki opening the coffee bag that a ramp gets several shots (y)

Wow you randy lot. I bet Suki would fancy all of you too;)
My experience is somewhat limited. However, as far as I can tell only a couple of my ladies have disliked being praised for their housework skills but none have objected to being considered attractive.

Ding Dong

In my trip before Christmas, I think I used the ramps/blocks many times but probably only half the time higher than mid way...

Yeah, we need a history based show, presented by Lucy Worsley and Prof Alice Roberts :h:

Preferably 2 Historians Go Ancient Motorhoming.

PS Surely there must be a dig somewhere that has unearthed a Roman motorhome. Caesar must have had one. Near to Vindolanda, maybe?

I reckon the producers of that series must be having a good old chuckle at the indignation it has stirred up among the smug motorhome cognoscenti.
It seems to me that it was only intended as a light-hearted travel programme; chewing gum for the eyes, not a definitive guide to practical motorhoming.

We were getting a bit blasé with our ramp use. If - ramp free - the slope was 3 Degrees or less that would do for us. The fridge was always running OK with that accuracy.
But a couple of times the shower tray would not drain. 'Worked out it was just when the motorhome was down at the front worse than or at around 2 degrees

Watched it today. I suppose at least there was an acknowledgement that you can camp off grid! Although why she said they were therefore without a cooker was slightly bizarre. I am sure they have a gas hob.

Or Vanessa Collingridge 👍😁😎

Gas hob AND cooker are standard in the Roller Team Zefiro 696 yy
And there's a gas bottle locker shown in the pic above ^
That off grid firepit cooking section was quite odd & must be confusing to viewers.

They were both on television this morning Good Morning Britain talking about the series. Saying its a great community on sites talking to other motorhomers and looking in each others vans.

They are probably talking to each other and looking other peoples vans as they are celebrities. Whilst some of you may find socialising like that desirable, some of us have no desire for small talk or nosey neighbours 😉. I suspect that makes us sound unsocial but really we are not just don’t want to socialise whilst away.

Each to their own, but half the fun of being away is meeting new people, tho we find music festivals are the easiest in that respect, rather than an ordinary campsite.

Because in reality ,they don't know how to. I can quite imagine that they assume that the water in the van is in constant supply.
Everywhere they pitch up its flat.no ramps used. (y)
The fact that they didn't appear to understand about the leisure battery, despite having 'toured' in a motorhome for the previous series says much, I think. I was entertained by this weeks episode in the Cotswolds, since they were touring in my local area. I laughed out loud several times. The beauty of recording it first is that it's very easy to whizz over any bits you don't want to watch.

On the ramps issue, I've only used ramps twice in the 10 years I've had my own vans. In my view (which is not 'anti-ramp' before anyone gets over-excited!) they're not worth the hassle or the space in a small van. On the other hand, when at Malvern a few weeks ago, a site which is practically pancake flat, an A class pulled in and took AGES to get set up - including getting onto ramps. Maybe they like being 'unlevel'! :)

I talk to anyone but have to be careful when talking to Dutch people as it normally ends up lasting an hour as they like to be sociable😁😁

I agree we constantly have conversations with others, it might help for those who don't like to talk to others while on a site to put a little sign up saying something like "We politely ask you that we like our Privacy" I would respect and understand that

Perhaps it would be a little friendlier to instead for social types to have a sign, "Visitors welcome".

When we were out walking we stopped to talk to a couple sitting outside there motorhome at a remote spot near the Mull of Kintyre. After a minute or 2 of exchanging a few pleasantries the bloke suddenly stood up said "well enjoy your walk" and went inside, very rude but we got the message. Maybe he was just having a bad day.

A simple skull and crossbones flag or radiation hazard sign should do . . . . . :)
