TBH, we mostly rely on our satellite system.

Unless you install/sign up to a VPN you won’t be able to watch UK channels with a foreign SIM. If you use a UK SIM you’ll most likely be limited to between 12 & 25 Gb/month.

There are a number of existing threads on which SIMs are best at any given time. If you use the search facility you should be able to find them.

100gb a month for 25 quid
can be used without any restrictions in Europe
100gb = 100 hours of viewing approximately

All I can tell you is that I pay £14 pm for 200gb data and whatever I don’t use is carried forward to the next month …. Im just back from 3 months in Portugal and used about 150gb of data per month out there mainly on a Firestick … im a very happy bunny

Don't forget to change settings to standard definition (sd)
Or you will use a lot more data than above

It is the source that decides on the definition, so if using a firestick or similar it needs changing on that.

Unless you mean a Smart TV with apps built in, in which case it will be each app that needs looking at.

The actual display will just show whatever definition is thrown at it, assuming it can cope with it.
