We do the same. Very rarely use the gas kettle any more. It frees up so much space because we dont have the hob open waiting for it to cool down, and is really useful on travelling days.We have an 800 watt one when using from the inverter it takes 70 amps at 12v.

1000 watt only used the kettle ½doz times in 7 years. Either on the tunnel or ferry port when gas is off, don't want to kill my batteries. What size inverter do you have Lenny?

A bit like you Robin in that we leave the gas kettle at home the gas oneI think many people have forgotten that basically motorhoming is camping. We have 1500w kettle that doesn't ever get loaded into the van. Always use the gas. That is a flatter kettle so sits on the floor when travelling and you don't have to find somewhere to keep the lead. Horses for courses though.
Whoops you are right, sorryMust be a normal "low wattage" house kettle though as ours at 2200 watts pulls close to 200 amps.
