Just a tad..
I eat porridge all the time when at home and almost never when in the Motorhome; it’s just too much faff.

Cinnamon means less sweetness is needed for my pallet, but a variety of toppings are often used. My favourite remains a little golden syrup…

I have porridge for breakfast virtually every day , have done for the last 10 years
Along with a daily portion of Blueberries, Raspberries and occasionally a few Strawberries .

Have low cholesterol surprisingly considering I’m overweight
the daily intake of oats could have something to do with that

I have friends in Sutherland (very North Scotland) and whenever there, they use cornmeal instead of the porridge we know. Is this usual?

A splash of Elmlea and a sprinkling of sultanas. It was a bit crisp first thing this morning and I suggested to OH that "porridge season" approached.

Long time
Salt in the porridge before cooking in water. Then a little milk and granulated artificial sweetener.
Porridge every day at home during the week. Home made muesli with some fresh fruit at weekends and in the van.
I don’t like these artificial sweeteners they usually have more chemicals than just using less sugar!

In that case one of us must be a child and the other way over the hill!
Who’s been eating my porridge? The story of the 3 bears clearly tells us that adults as well as children can enjoy porridge but makes no mention of older people.

Long time
Overnight porridge, no cooking needed. The night before put oats, Greek youghurt, milk, frozen mixed berries, and any other fruit you fancy (or some jam) in a plastic container. Stir well, put the lid on and put it in the fridge. Next morning eat it from the container. Yum yum
Keep meaning to try that!

Now that was a silly thing to post and I need your assistance!

Love porridge and has to be salt and only salt! Not only do you waste the quality oats by putting sugar \ syrup \ jam \ etc\ etc ..... on them but it wastes these as well!

Anyway, to my problem!

You've seen my previous posts and they're, obviously, written by a wean!

However, given the silver hair and beard can you advise which of your two categories do I fall into?
Definitely a child (y)

I cup of Oats, 1 cup of milk, 2 cups of water, pinch of salt, bring up to a simmer, stir for a few minutes, job done nearly.
Slack handful of mixed nuts & raisons, or Granola, stir into porridge, pour into bowls, sprinkle with brown sugar or golden syrup, lovely jubbly!

As a Christmas treat a dollop of Cornish Clotted Cream, or Brandy Butter on top.(y)

Then I am ready for the full English fry up, don't forget the Black pudding & hash browns though.

PS: Master Chef Cordon Bleu Idea for next Christmas.
Make porridge as normal, sprinkle left over mince pies on top, dash of double cream...yum , yum. Wot do ya reckon?

A dollop of Aldi's creamy Greek yoghurt, topped with raspberries from the garden and a dribble of honey. When the raspberries have finished we will revert to banana and blueberries.

Just made overnight with water, dried Cranberries (or other dried fruit) and honey in morning when warm!
