In July 2019. Last year I went across using BF. Less driving distance but a less comfortable overnight ferry crossing.
The ferry appears to be faily new.
Sorry about the above Video, I should have watched it first before posting. Still it's quite informative and if your like me you will be feeling it for Gary.

Nice video. That crossing and the local area is like a second home to me. The 'aire' at Petit-Appeville is opposite the railway station and only a dump/water point. For maybe 15 years I've stopped en route at Camping La Source (15 mins drive from ferry) next to the dump point which is a glorious peaceful site run by a lovely young couple.
Re. French food prices, on R4 I recently heard a spokesman for British farming saying that retail food shops in France are prohibited from selling produce at less than the cost to them (which is apparently what many U.K. supermarkets do).
The Dieppe market on Saturday mornings is huge with everything from food and clothing to bric-brac..........
The quay is packed with bars and restos......

Yeah I liked the video as well, a bit raucous on the ears but I love the ones where people are just starting out and telling you what they are doing, just like we all did years ago .

Do you remember when the ferry used to dock in the harbour?
We would do a day trip as foot passengers, walk straight off the boat into the shops and restaurants.
It really is the best market we've come across, and well worth staying an extra night in Dieppe.

You need to vist the one in Vaison-la-Romainein in Provence, practically fills the whole town.
The one in St. Fois le Grande is good, too. They have an English language used book stall and someone selling Cornish pasties and English meat pies.

I don't, but it's amazing that the French do! I mean, what can their Mediterranean taste buds make of a Cornish pasty? Or English paperbacks? Not that they would eat paperbacks, but you know what I mean!
