Normally use the Autogas App.
When I need to top up they're usually either out of stock or miles from where I am.

The Morrisons near me don't sell autogas.

The one at Ringwood has been closed for at least a year due to major bridge replacement work, the one at wallisdown is very often empty even though showing price on the app so always phone beforehand.

Yes, I've filled up there when down in Devon but it's a 112 mile round trip for me (around 2hr 40min as no motorways in Dorset!).

I live 10 miles North of Brighton. 4 of the 5 garages within a 15 miles radius have removed their LPG pumps during the past 18 months and out of interest I check the BP garage at Patcham when I go past a couple of times a week but in the past 6 months I haven't managed to get any. Although the LPG on the sign is illuminated the pump has always been unavailable.
Luckily, anticipating that possibility four years ago I installed one Gaslow and one Calor propane, both permanently connected.

Closest is Wallisdown when they have it, Swanage or Dorchester which has difficult access with a 7.4m moho.

I was going to suggest a trip up to South Wiltshire as there is gas at a few places up this way Bulford village Nisa filling station has lpg also I believe although not used Winterbourne Stoke A303 and there are couple on the A303 near Ilchester, Sparkford

Why do people want to find LPG close to where they live. I only use it when away and wouldn't consider driving somewhere hundred miles away especially to fill up. My motorhome is currently at home and the gas is full which is how I like to keep it likewise with diesel, a full tank will take me as far as Luxembourg.

Getting holding of LPG is definitely getting more problematic. Rather than rely on service stations I tend to seek out gas specialists while on my travels. Still fairly easy to obtain in the SW with a bit of planning.

But why are you concerned about lpg close to you? Don't you leave Dorset at all? When I first fitted my gaslow I had the same worry but then realised ill simply get some on the way to wherever Im travelling to, never had a problem since. In fact Im just back from 8 days in France and simply topped up at the first one I saw, no problem whatsoever.

I don't. In my post I referred to local suppliers in my particular area only because I know the area and suppliers better than places I come across when on my m/h travels away from home. Fortunately 90% of my travels are over the Channel where I've not had a problem.

Up until a couple of months ago I only had a single 6kg gaslow tank. It lasted for 10 days in Weymouth in the summer (no heating!) so had to leave site to fill up. Dorchester had none so it meant an 86 mile round trip just for gas. Had an additional 11kg tank fitted now so proximity to home is not such a big issue.

If you check the prices you will see there is £200 difference in price which you say is hardly significant?
I would say that’s a big difference?

We can agree to disagree, for 3 more years of warranty on the system, stainless steel hoses not rubber and the perceived better reputation of gaslow I don't call it significant, I call it an investment. Same way I spent a grand on a growler and batterymaster from Vanbitz rather than a cheaper alternative.

Dorchester reliably has lpg, ok access for my 7.75m van.
At least when I left home in mid September, last confirmed 17/10

Why would you need to fill up at home.
I would have thought filling up on your next trip away would be the easiest.

I’m very interested in these posts as I am just going to get a LPG system fitted.
”the perceived better reputation of gasflow” where does this come from?
I thought Gas It were the forerunners and largely supplied industry in the form of LPG for forklifts etc.
As I mentioned I’m looking to have a system installed and at the moment “I know nothing”
