Morning Funsters. My dealer has asked to check the following:

Dometic have come back with a couple of items to check.

Firstly check the temperature control knob is actually turning the thermostat and not just the knob moving.
Secondly is to check the silver thermostat tub on the rear going into the cooling unit is kinked/damaged.

Thanks both. Nothing inside fridge except thin wire. Agreed Lenny. First advice was to check door seals. This was all supposed to be resolved at habitation check last November. On 12v fridge was draining leisure battery. On gas wouldn’t light, igniter was finally identified as problem in March, and replaced last week. Only on 240v does fridge ice up. I’ve got a number for Dometic in Tewkesbury so will try them

I'd suspect that the "thin wire" is supposed to have a sensor on the end, as Lenny says, clipped to the cooling fins.

It seems that the RML8230 uses a thin capillary tube as a temp. sensor and I think that is the "wire" that is seen inside the fridge , it is connected to a manually operated control for gas operation and temp. setting (V85) which is also linked to a thermostatic switch for 230v operation and perhaps this is faulty.
