There are 3 castles that you can buy a multi ticket for so that you can enter and walk round and I paid for them. Not only that but I paid for the wife as well.
Neuschwanstein is the famous one and famous for being in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, it is set on a hill and is quite a trek up there but i think there was disabled parking at the top. All 3 were by built by Ludwig ii
NWS (as it is now called in our house for ease of typing) is best viewed from the outside and there is a bridge above the castle where the classic selfie with castle in background photo is taken.
Inside was an extreme disappointment (to us) and easily the less nice of the 3. It took 20 minutes to walk round and only 8 rooms open and the information being given was the same we had received at the 2 previous castles.
The discount for buying the 3 tickets lulled me in, and I have learnt my lesson, but to be fair, you need to go in and find out for yourselves. Go in early is a good option here.
