Mechelen Walking on water and Heist op den berg aire

Having succesfully navigated our cycle through water, flown through the cycle through the trees and the cycling on some moors (I dont know what they are going to call it yet) as it isnt finished to our knowledge, we found Mechelen as a place they advertised as "walk on water".
Had to go on our hit list so we made our way there on our bikes but found out they have health and safety in Belgium as there is no cycling on the wooden slatted walkway slightly above the level of the water. It was actually quite long maybe a kilometre or more and several easy flat access points for wheelchairs or prams etc. Lovely walk to break up the beer stops.
Our choice of aire to get here is a repeat aire for us. When we went the first time the wife forgot to bring the keys to take the batteries out of the bikes to recharge them. But then we found we could recharge them directly whilst they are on the bike. The aire is dedicated "round the side of the car park" motorhome parking with spaced out bays and easy access and straight onto a cycle network and next to a sports centre with Free e bike charging. You just lock your bike up and charge away with your own charger. Free water and dump. No leccy for the van. Near to town centre which is pleasant enough
