Wife feeling better today rather than a to and fro route I found something I thought was interesting that I noted on the map
I also saw a blue line on mapy.cz that sort of took us there, so once she had woken up and had a cup of tea we were off. That was about 1100 hrs.
I have struggled last couple of days with what I thought initially was an insect then a bit of grit behind my eyelid. Quite a sharp pain occasionally but minor really but causing quite an amount of weeping from that eye. Suspecting I need some cream as eye washes aren't helping. Job for tomorrow.
We followed the blue route but at times it was more of a footpath but only got off bikes once for stinging nettles. Some lovely spots for fishermen in lakes and the Naab river.
Lunch was now calling and we took a detour to enhance our chances. Schwarzenfeld was a 3 Kms cycle path on smooth tarmac away. As we entered the town there were road closed signs to ignore as I could hear an oompah loompah band. Those 2 things normally mean party. They did today
Curry bratwurst and chips with a beer as we were serenaded by something that is not to our taste.
We continued towards Erlebnispark spotting numerous lakes but this one had the swans
Then this free entry series of lakes which are a playpark for kids and us. Kids paddle with the carp and learn about fish on the way round and free beach with loads of families taking advantage
We continued to murner see where you can cycle all round it so we did. There was a scuba diving area and numerous pockets of beaches for individual families, loads of paddle boarding, a turn or viewing tower, other more populated beaches and an aire attached to a campsite so showers are free for 17 euros. Very nice lake.
We then cycled round Steinberg am See lake and the first km was frantic with people around the beach, but the place grew on us as we found those little pockets of beach and a huge turn but they wanted 9.50 each. That wasn't going to happen.
So we came back to our free aire and spent the money on ice cream and beer.
