Cheb

We left Prague and went down the motorway as we still had time left on our online toll. In years gone by we had done both the "Romantic route" and the "Castle route" in Germany. The castle route runs from Mannheim to Prague with lots of places in-between. Too many for us to cover on our way back home but we wanted to give Ang and Paul a taster. We would join it at Bamburg so about halfway was Cheb. We wanted to relax and catch up with washing and eat out at a reasonable price and fill up with cheap diesel etc etc. Just outside Cheb is a lake with a few campsites on. The best review was at Camping Drenece on the banks of the lake. It had a restaurant attached and was cheap.
We filled up with "groceries" at the Tesco in Cheb and went to the site. It was old but well maintained. It was full of long term Germans living on the cheap.
We had good intentions of cycling around the lake and going back into the town but we did nothing for a couple of days. When we arrived there was a swimming competition going on, with some serious distances.
We did use the bar tho.

Good sized pitches with nice grass. Nice and peaceful and relaxing.

When we left we used up all our Koruna on diesel.
