After a truly awful nights sleep because of the weather, it was a bit of a late start for us. We were hoping for thunderstorms to clear the air and were on a promise of 21c today which would have been a nice change.
The boulangerie at Grolejac got our custom this morning before planning a route via Souillac to Brive then back somewhere towards bort Les orgues.
This changed at Souillac when we saw diesel under 1.90. Having used some internet this was cheap so begrudgingly filled up.
Aldi also got a first visit and we decided to loosely follow the Dordogne but we couldn't see it for great parts.
But we did go under this
We then decided Beaulieu Sur Dordogne was for us. We were last here on our anniversary last year and spent the night filling out application forms for our Ukrainians to come over.
We also bumped into the couple we met when near Ile de madame. A first for us to bump into newly met motorhomers. Hopefully not such a messy night tonight !
A cycle following the river up was the choice today. The route on a map had us near to la Dordogne for good stretches, hoping to find a dipping point somewhere but alas it never came about in the 29c pharmacy temperature gauge.
This was on a tributary just before argentat so 20 Kms before the camera came out. It was pleasant scenery just not photographic (to me)
Then came a bird watching place which had a couple of walks of 1.4 and 3.5 Kms but we poked our heads through from the road and saw nothing
Into Argentat and it was really quite pleasant especially around the bridge
We stuffed our Grolejac purchased almond patisserie and made our way back avoiding hazards
but slight detour for our only unobstructed view of la Dordogne before Beaulieu
