Well here is an update now in November and our van has gone back to Lowdhams they said for 2 weeks to fix the none working from new. Zenec unit I got a call yesterday to say it could now be a further 4 to 6 weeks as they want to send the head unit back for repair which I think is B......s no body repairs this sort of thing it should be a straight forward replacement I am annoyed to say the least.
You are thinking along the same lines as us Ken we are waiting till Monday as they said they were looking at all options but we are not expecting any thing as they have been pretty much useless up to now.
I will have a look on the German Hymer web site to try and find the customer service department its a shame really as we like the van and a few small issues are turning into a saga.
Doesn't sound too good Steve, does appear that you are not getting a lot of support.
The default customer service email address is kundendienst@hymer.com
You get a default acknowledgement then a response when they are ready. I put urgent in the header, sometimes works. I asked why the dashboard switch was just engine battery when engine off, basically, because it is.
Surely they could remove the head unit from another Hymer (assuming they have one in stock) and fit it to yours thus keeping you happy by getting you your van back. It really annoys me when you shell out a load of money on a van, which would buy 2 houses in Hartlepool, and the buggers don't give a monkeys chuff once you've driven out of the place.
