YouTube vanlife drama

These YouTubers are certainly not very welcome within the real full time van life communities.
Apparently Roaming Radfords were told in no uncertain terms to stop encouraging people to wild camp near Stonehenge . I don’t think they will be welcomed back there .

I must admit I always thought she had a big nose but thought it must be the camera angle but that's did it.
Be careful. Apparently Dan is collecting a list of all the “ haters “ to be handed to the Uk police 👮🏻 😂.
I can’t imagine there will be a particularly quick response.
Wasting police time because someone said his girlfriend has a big nose and someone did a few Spitting Image type satire videos of them , absolutely pathetic.
The man is like a spoiled child 🤮

I did actually give some money to Kinging it once when they were younger and just making a go of it. I know I know, I shouldnt really and never have since but I just liked what they were trying to do, and thought yeah Ill help them on the way with that. He actually emailed me after and asked if I was sure about the donation before they accepted it which says a lot.
It was after they were ill and both got the Youtube thing going. I did find them funny and the wife egged me on (honest) Lol.
AND the fact they were quite open what they were doing it for "get well known" "to make money" and quite a few tourist boards and the like then took them on and gave them "jobs"
one of the very few I dont find "cringey" but they are wacky, and not everyones cup of tea.
I follow Kinging it,she's crazy,,also follow Tread the Globe and Ex Pawers,,,Cheap entertainment because there is such crap on the box.BUSBY.

I never told you how to spend your money🤷‍♂️

I said fake vanlifers claiming to be escaping a perceived society of forced commercialism selling out and selling folk crap to fund their lifestyle is a lie and doing Exactly what they claimed to be escaping from.

And in doing so they are ruining the culture for others.

I was once told money was the root of all evil and I didn't quite believe it

But now I do

People with too much of it impact the life's of people with not enough of it

And round and round it goes.

I'm proud to be money savvy .
I get where you're coming from, but I'm not sure they've all said they're trying to escape anything ?
Perhaps they just prefer the lifestyle for whatever reasons they may have, which I think will be varied

All the ones I'm talking about have. I started following them before they sold out . But it seems they are easily bought

You don't actually get them with vanlife either ...obviously you have the odd issue here and there that's life after all...but there are thousands of people doing fulltime vanlife that doesn't have these channels.

It just annoys me when folk out there are buying stickers and mugs hoodies and various other shite from folk they deem as "vanlife " influencers and really they are just backhanded market traders who don't actually live vanlife.

It's bullshit

I don’t get why someone would want a mug or hoodie with someone else’s name on it that most people have never heard of.

your right it is pathetic (y)

I do like Kinging-it as well, like you say they are pretty down to earth, and very watchable and funny.

I never had anything against people making money from YouTube. It is the power bank companies that seem to have caused the problem . Giving away high value products for “unbiased and honest reviews” just isn’t going to work . If the company are constantly giving away and launching new products, why would anyone be so stupid as to say anything vaguely negative whilst reviewing the product ! Obviously you wouldn’t be selected by the companies marketing department for any future product reviews if you did . In addition you are unlikely to encourage any other companies from approaching you .What does that do to the validity of the review?

As someone that simply subscribed to The Slaws and have only skimmed a few of the others I have read this thread with a modicum of interest.

I have checked out a few of those quoted. Most very boring..... 😉

Just watched Travel Trolls in Spain. Is this a parody channel?

Well I’m glad I avoided them. Was told they were at El Raco when we were there. Then I think someone tried to wind me up by saying they were at Bonterra when we were there also.
All I can say is didn’t see or hear them at all. 🥳🥳🥳

I sat through three vids and although they are amusing some of the time they seem to give the impression they have never been anywhere before.

No idea of the basics of Spanish or what traffic signs mean.
Typical little Britain

Bit like the Radfords then. If in doubt raise the voice a bit ? Or and point or just do as you please.

On our recent trip was in the campsite shop ( very good actually) and were behind a lady who seemed as if been living there for years. No attempt at any Spanish, not even “Ola” we felt embarrassed. My Spanish is poor but we try. The shopkeeper was very nice to us and obviously appreciated our attempt, albeit poor as it was. She remembered every time we went in and served with a warmly smile

Please don’t take this the wrong way but I need to replace my Ecoflow, are any of the aforementioned offering a discount code? I’m assuming you’ve watched them. 😉

Looks like GJ is having a nightmare with the EcoFlow system and lack of customer support. He’s going back Victron I think .

Page 13 of this thread....so many "video unavailable" posts.😉

What's the difference between the YouTube Vanlifers and the Vloggers than don't claim to spend 24/7 but make travel vids?

There are loads we watch now mostly to see where they have been to get an idea where to go ourselves.....

Travel trolls used to be the kings of the very worse YouTube selling stuff but they are beginning to look the most normal ones on there now with all this jackflow nonsense, there must be some on there now just getting setup to specifically push stuff, never setting out to do anything but sell.

To be fair to them, they hadn't actually been before and were showing how they got on, like many on here the first time we went, but it did show you will be fine .

We have had another couple done almost the same , they are Rob and Lynn, don't know what they go under on you tube , it was their first time and they couldn't believe they didn't get stopped at the Spanish, french border.

A little basic reading or even getting hold of the "Rough Guide - Spain" from the library (I did) helps. I watch these vloggers for inspiration. I even bought a Weird Fish half zip waffle top after seeing one or more of them wearing it. Very comfortable it is too.

When I say inspiration I simply mean places they go and I can see whether I would. Whether they make any money is of no interest to me.

There are loads on YouTube and most seem pretty good at what they do. My recent attempt at a "road video" wasn't all that good. I fear vlogging isn't for me!
